Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

My Bauknecht GSFK 2351 dishwasher would not start the washing cycle.\r\nThe green light flashes 6 times repeatedly. I was able to drain it by pressing the 'reset' button for several seconds. The filter is clean, no obstruction seen.

    Hi Daniel,
My dishwasher does not have any buttons for heat dry, normal, etc. It only has temperature selection, power on and start.
Please refer to my actual user interface, not to some other dishwasher's.
That's why I indicated the model.
    Thanks, Ron

    Hi Daniel,
I suppose the problem is related to either the hose, or the flow meter.
    I have the following questions:
    1. How do I determine which part is faulty?
    2. Does the faulty part need to be replaced, or could it be blocked, so that all I need to do is some cleaning?

My strategy is to establish whether I need to replace a specific part and then replace it, but I can't afford a process of trial or error, buying parts I do not need.
    Thanks,
    Ron

One more question: Could the faulty part be a timer, not providing the needed control to the valve?

Hi

Please check if the green light flashing 6 times. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry. If this doesn't work then its an issue with the heater circuit, door switch, wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

6 flashes means Water valve is switched on but flow meter senses no impulses (less than 10 impulses in 10 secs) and the water indicator is at a low level Water Valve Closed. If the water inlet hose is not blocked the it is due to defective Water inlet valve or a bad flow meter.

Yeah Ron....first try cleaning the water lines and valve for any clog, then take a multimeter and test the water inlet valve on its two terminals if that is fine and the water flows inside the unit then it is the flow meter that is bad and if the water wont flow in the unit then it is the timer/control that should be checked.

Green start button won't stop blinking

START/RESET status indicator light flashing

You have pressed the indicator light flashing START/RESET pad while the START/RESET dishwasher is running. This will cancel the cycle. The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains (about 90 seconds).

Press the pad once to start the dishwasher. Press the pad a second time when the dishwasher is running only if you wish to cancel the cycle.

Power to the dishwasher was turned off while a cycle was running and power has just been restored to the dishwasher. The blinking lights indicate that the dishwasher is draining the potential water inside.

The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains. A new cycle will start automatically.

Good luck

Clean light flashes constanly. Won't clear out to start new cycle

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Whirlpool quiet partner I won't run just keeps blinking

is the cean light blinking 7 times and then repaeating?? If so this is a water heating fault and means that the computer sensed that the water temp didnt rise just 3deg in the last main wash cycle. If its not blinking 7times then repeat, it sounds like the user interface (membrane switches) have failed. Let me know more and i can help.

Wash motor does not run: Inlet/Drain error

Wordhog: Does sound like a siezed wash pump to me. Wash motor needs to run to get the correct level of water.

To drain a Miele dishwasher, start the machine on a cycle. All the Miele range of dishwashers drain before filling. Then hold in the start button until the end/finish light is lit. Keep doing this until all the water has gone. You could just get a jug and bail it out. Once the jug does not do the job anymore, switch to a cup, I use a very large syringe for the remaining half a litre.

Brand new dishwasher will not finish washing, it just beeps and the lights flash red - CANDY CDP 1L39W/K I have a brand new Candy dishwasher model CDP 1L39W/K that won't finish it's wash cycle. When I do P5 for a fast 5minute cycle I hear the dishwasher fill up, it begins to wash, and then after it drains the water, then the dishwasher begins beeping repeatedly and flashing the red light under the P5 setting. When I check the detergent slot it hasn't been used yet. When I select a long wash like P3 the same thing happens after it drains the water, so I think the error occurs after the first rinse cycle? When I push down reset all the lights flash and then blink sequentially just like the dishwasher is waiting for a new cycle input, but the water pump to drain the water never turns off. If I push the power button the unit turns off but the water pump keeps running. Only when I disconnect the power cord from the wall will the pump turn off. If I reconnect the power cord the pump turns back on sometimes. I read online that maybe the flood switch was hit and to tilt the unit and drain water, I took off the kick panel and didn't see any water, and tilted the unit back and forth as instructed. The first time I tried this I think it may have helped the water pump turn off after I reconnected the power cord. But when I ran a cycle again nothing changed. I also waited a few days afterwards because I was busy at work enough time for any water to dry up but this didn't help. I'm in Vietnam and the customer support is Vietnamese so I thought I would try this before I have to see about the warranty and shipping the unit far north for repair. Any help is really appreciated, I can post a video of the beeping, blinking lights, and water pump running after I unplug the unit it'd help. I so badly want this dishwasher to just work, it was a big purchase here and a lot people don't understand why I'd buy it so now that it's not working it's really embarrassing! Thanks again!
