This usually means some speaker wires are touching. remove all first (meaning all cables except the power one) power it on if you get the message again it is a faulty device inside the unit. if not you can isolate the problem by plugging one in at a time. once you find out the problem wire you chase the wires to see if they are not cut or touching somewhere. thank you and please rate.

Hii I have sony shake 6D system and whenever I turn the volume up it reaches upto 40 and shows the error of 'protect E01' while the maximum volume is 50. Please help

Most likely, your unit is shutting down due to overheating. You cannot run an amp at that kind of volume very long. It is shutting down to protect itself. Try running the amp at 1/3 your normal level. Most likely, it will not shut down.

A short exists in the unit and it is powering down to prevent a chain reaction from happening----Have a repair shop or expert look to see if can be repaired and at what cost--no a do it yourself repair.

PROTECT MESSAGE

It senses an error or problem and shuts down. Try disconnecting all the cables and wires attached to it. Try it again. If it still shows protect message, it is an internal fault and requires a repair shop. If it clears up, then the problem may be a shorted speaker wire. Correct the short when reconnecting the speakers.

Power turns off

Protect mode will kick in whenever a fault is detected.

You get the unit not powering up, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that is the protection switch that keeps shutting down the unit.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Protect flashing on screen

That is the system telling you it jhas shut down the amplifier circuit to protect itself from damage.
Check the speaker wires both at the back of the unit and at each of the speakers to see if any of them have come out or are touching anything they shouldn't be.

You may also have a blown speaker sending a short back down the line. So if you find no wires out of place, then disconnect each speaker and turn the unit off and on as you go until the message is not showing and sound is restored.
