Question about NovaLogic F-22 Lightning 2 for Windows

2 Answers

I'm trying to run my F-22 CD on my Vista Home OS. I have a DOSBox which runs downloaded DOS programs, but doesn't like to work with CDs. I mount my E Drive the way I'm supposed to: Mount e e:/ -t cdrom e:/ install "But then I am told: Insufficient extended memory to run program Could not continue: File not found: setup.exe" So I'm a little lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Try with the config file. See if you have enough memory there. Also, some games "don't like" having a cdrom unit other than D, try mounting E as "mount e d:\"

Also you need to do mount for drive c:
so that error message: "insufficient extended memory..." will never raise again

Will 1944 across the rhine run on Windows Vista Ultimate?

i can run 1944 atr fine now on windows 7
- it does just involve using Dosbox - which is an awesome program that can run most ms dos games and allows for alot of tweaking so the game runs perfectly.
get dosbox, its free - and then read up on how use it
you can then just mount the cd drive or cd image in dosbox and install the game from there. - you can then even just make a shortcut with added commands that will run the game by just clicking on the short cut
make a conf file for the game - i found that switching cpu to normal and having cpu type as a 'pentium_slow' works well

I have lighthouse/darkbeing 1996 and it will not install on my computer I have windows7 on mty laptop

This is an old program (DOS/Windows 3). It will not be compatible with a Windows 7 computer. (If you have the 64-bit version, you probably will have even more compatibility issues.)

Try using the program DOSbox, a DOS emulator: . Download the Windows version (it will work under Win7 x64 and 32-bit). Install the program then see if you can install the game. If that doesn't work, you will need a program that can make a .iso (image) of the CD. A possible option is MagicISO Maker: . Save the iso to your hard disc and then mount the image in DOSbox . This is a two-step process much like in UNIX. You will need to mount the hard drive and then mount the image. The commands would look like: mount c "c:\images"
imgmount d "C:\Lighthouse.iso" -t iso
Then go to the D drive and run the game as you did when you played on your previous computer.

I hope this helps.

the best way to do this is probably use windows and run dosbox for windows. What it does is it emulates DOS and lets you run any program that requires dos. Because your computer doesnt have a LPT port. and nowadays only drivers for dos or newer operating systems come with the card. installing the driver in windows then running dosbox, it will see the LPT port.

you can get it here

Hi, I bought Lemmings many years ago and could not get it to work on my old computer. I now have a new computer running vista. But I still can't see how to run the software. The copy I have is Lemmings for...

In order to run old DOS games on Vista, you will need to use a DOS emulator. One of the best DOS emulators that you can download and use for free is DOSBox.

Here is the link for online instructions for setting up DOSBox:

How to run turbo c++in vista 64 bit os

You can run Turbo C++ 3.0 on Windows XP 64 bit , Vista 32 bit and 64 bit OS (in full screen)

Install the software DOSBox ver 0.72 (Freeware) from the link below (Direct Link) urcef 32-in staller.exe?download

Before going to the details u have to create a folder (any name will do).

Here we name it as Turbo

Copy the TC into the Turbo folder

Run the DOSBox 0.72 from the icon located on the desktop or from the location of the installation folder

Then u are presented with two screens which look like the command prompt in Windows

Now u are presented with two screens. One with a Z prompt. U can ignore the other screen.

There type the following commands at the command prompt [Z]:

Mount [Type in any alphabet that u wish except z] [Type the source of the turbo C] press enter

For example (Type in the following commands after the Z prompt):

Z: mount d c:\Turbo\ [The folder TC is present inside the folder Turbo]

* Now u should get a message which says: Drive D is mounted as a local directory c:\Turbo\ ***

C:\> cd TC [The contents inside the folder Turbo gets mounted as a virtual drive (Here D drive)

Where in the USA is carmen sandiego doesn't seem to load under vista properly? resolution and quicktime not functioning at all.

Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego I believe is an old DOS game. It won't run properly in Vista but if you use a DOS emulator then you can properly run the game in vista cause your fooling the program into thinking that its running in the old DOS environment.

Try DOSBOX, its a dos emulator that runs in windows and it allows you to run those old DOS games. Go to its a free program and it comes with instructions on how to use it.
