Likely one half of the full-wave rectifier has failed. Take in for repair. Sometimes output amp shorts to one power rail causing this. DO NOT continue to operate this until repaired as it will destroy the speaker!!!

I have an ibanez tone blaster, the lights and all come on but no sound is made. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem?

Some hopefully easy fixes : Input jack could be the problem, or connection from the amp to the speaker. Does the speaker hum a bit with the volume up almost all of the way without anything plugged into the unit? If not, check the connection from speaker to amp.

If it does hum slightly when u crank the volume, check your input jack -- it might be jacked up (pardon the pun) and you can fix that easily by soldering in a new one.

I have a marshall mg100hdfx head. it was working fine and I turned it on it started screaming like feedback at full volume. it does this with all volume at zero and without anything plugged in the inp

This could be many things and unless you are electronically adept it is unlikely you can DIY the repair... HOWEVER I want you to try one thing first: Sometimes the contacts on the switches of the Effects send and return go bad leaving the input to the power amp section floating and it can feedback. To test this, plug an INSTRUMENT cable between the send and return effects jacks on the back. This bypasses the contacts, If the amp behaves, you could run it this way getting a short cable or have the amp worked on at a shop to replace the jack. The jacks are really rather poor quality on musical amps in general.

My Marshall Haze 40 Amp started making a very loud humming noise after a couple hours of playing.I let it cool down, and turned it back on and the noise came back after a few minutes

may be one of the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply has become leaky...this is a common problem among amplifiers...so you let it cool down..then after a period of time the capacitor heats up and then causes the hum...the power supply caps filter out the 60 hertz ac line noise...which is probably the frequency of the sound it is making...this is a good indication of these caps going bad....another thing you can check is to see if the amp is properly grounded(eg: the ground pin on the plug is present) and that you dont have an open cord or input

Mg smokin makes 60 hz hum

Probably the power amp chip has failed with a short to one of the power rails. This will cause hum and ultimately wreck your speaker. Take in for repair.

Marshall VS65R is powered up it hums

Blown speaker NO (would not get sound at all)

Bad Reverb UNLIKELY (controls would deselect reverb and it would be out of circuit)

Bad preamp tube NO (controls have no effect)

Bad rectifier and/or filter caps LIKELY

Bad power amp POSSIBLE

Marshall MG100HDFX 100-Watt Amplifier Head. The head phone jack works but speaker output is dead. Hooked it to speakers with another amp input and after word it stopped working. Can't see any overheated...

You'll have to take it in to get it repaired. From what you described it sounds like you blew the output stage out. You can't run from your speaker output jack into the input jack of another amp. You should go out of the recording out, line out, effects out or in the least case your headphone out. What happens usually is your output transformer short circuits due to a mismatch of impedances. It sounds like you still have a transformer though so you might have gotten lucky. You will need to take it in though. Sorry.

Bad Humm out

First disconnect all inputs. If hum is still there, PROBABLY the filter capacitors have gone bad. Replacement is the cure.

IF there is no hum without any inpout cable connected, there is a ground loop and either the ground at the inout connector is broken, or your cables and guitar may have a problem.
