Try to uninstall the itunes using revo uninstaller(free software on the web, next download Ccleaner and thenfo to registry and scan for registry rrors and then fix all errors(its a button on the software) then delete the setup file that you downloaded and redownload the itunes from www.apple.com, and try Installing it, This should solve the problem.

My itunes stops working every time i try to open it

Since it is "free" software:
Click Start
Click Settings
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click Add/Remove Programs
Select iTunes
Click to uninstall it.
Restart your computer.
From www.apple.com download the newest version, and install it.

Everytime I try to open an application, itunes opens instead.

Uninstall iTunes -- it's _free_ software, so it can be re-installed later.

Then, open My Documents, and double-click on a file (a Word document, an Excel spreadsheet, or a PDF file) and see which program Windows chooses to open to "handle" the file that you double-clicked.

I am trying to download itunes onto my laptop but it wont let me download more than 76%

you sure your problem is the 'download' part?? or is it the installation part??

if it's the download part I would suggest for you to attempt to download the installation file in another computer, put it on the thumb drive and bring it over to the laptop where you want to install the itunes.

if you have problems installing itunes you probably may want to uninstall
the following programs and in the following order
  1. iTunes
  2. QuickTime
  3. Apple Software Update
  4. Apple Mobile Device Support
  5. Bonjour
  6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
if you can't uninstall them with 'add and remove programs', I would suggest to use this windows uninstaller and clean up utility

only once you have uninstalled all the programs above, run the itunes installer and all the programs updated will be installed one at a time.

hope this helps

I cant open my itunes on yt desktop

Backup your "My Music" folder to a DVD-writable disk or to an external hard-drive.

Use 'Add/Remove Programs' to uninstall iTunes.

Download the newest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes

Install iTunes -- it should find all your music in your "My Music" folder, and import the music.

I have cleaned my pc with a double killer software. Now I can't open Itunes. I receive each time the following message: The instruction at "0x6685f2cO" referenced memory at 0x00000000 cannot be "read"...

Re-install Itunes. Use the Add / Remove Programs applet to uninstall it. Reboot afterwards. Go to Itunes.com and download the newest version. Select Run to re-install.

Problem downloading Itunes on Dell P.C.

try the following procedure.

first, head into your start> control panel >Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.

next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ (Copy ans paste the link in internet explorer)

next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover itunes and quicktime program files:

Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925?viewlocale=en_US

now try to install itunes again. does it go through properly this time?

If not then also try installing latest windows installer software

(Sometimes an iTunes entry or QuickTime entry doesn't show up in cleanUp, in conjunction with a missing .msi message, if there's an older version of the Windows Installer on the PC.)
