Question about ViewSonic Hanvon N516 Handheld

1 Answer

I have just purchased a Hanvon N516 e-reader and cannot get the battery to charge up. I have tried both using a charger off mains power and also charging from my PC using a USB connection. In neither case will the red LED light which indicates that the unit is charging illuminate. When connected to mains power or to my PC the blue LED display comes on indicating that ther is ppower - but it will not power up and the blue LED light will not illuminate unless it is connected to my PC or mains power using the adapter/charger (which came with the unit. Cna you please help me.

Hi,

It seems the Hanvon N516 e-reader battery is stone dead.We technically use this word.It acts like its get charged. In reality 1% only gets charged. You have to replace the battery. This will occur due to
two reasons
1)Old battery
2)Not used for long time.

Since its new purchase. This type of defective piece will be come in 1 of 1000 products.Just go and claim your warranty.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

try removing the battery and just use the mains power. If the laptop works you may need a new battery. If it doesn't your charger is faulty.

The battery of my nikon D3100 was not functioning..im confuse if it is the charger or the battery got a problem..how to fix it??

Is there a light on the charger to indicate that it is powered up when you connect it to the mains socket. If so then the adapter is probably OK and the battery is faulty or worn out.
Try purchasing a new battery and charge it in the adapter.

I just bought some nyko duel charger batteries with a charger the battries have chared for days and wont charge past 2 bars whats goin on with them how do i fully charge them

This sounds like an issue with the batteries themselves. If they are brand new i would suggest possibly taking them back to the store you got them. If they are past the return time frame then look into the manufacturer warranty.

It sounds like the battery you are using doesn't supply enough power to start the bike. Using jumper cables starts the bike because of the additional power you are supplying it. Make sure you are using the correct battery. Check to see if there is a more powerful battery available for purchase.

You have many options.
-bring it to a dealership and have them charge / test it.
-buy a charger yourself and charge it.
-buy a trickle charger and charge it yourself.
-buy a brand new battery and not worry about it for a couple years

It's likely your charger. You probably own a "fast charger" but it's also probably designed for your lower mAh power batteries. The charger does not understand the power difference of your newer high-capacity battery, thus it is automatically stopping the charge before completion sensing something is wrong. You'll need to either purchase a newer charger, clearly stated capable of charging 3000mAh batteries. An alternative is to use an older "trickle" charger (one of those that charges at very low power slowly overnight). These don't automatically turn off when the battery reaches full charge, thus will charge your battery.

DOES NOT CHARGE WITH UNIVERSAL USB WALL CHARGER (SONY PRS600)

Its not recommended to charge the Reader using any third party battery charger. Its alweays recommended to use the AC-S5220E AC Adaptor or the supplied USB cable to charge the Reader. If you use any third party Battery charger the Reader may be damaged. Please dont use those things. All the Best!

Samsung L100 cant figure out how to charge!!! Adaptor supplied but no battery charger to plug in to mains. Do I need to purchase a battery mains charger???

you can charge the battery through the camera like a cellphone.

plug the USB cable to the ADAPTER then plug it to a wall socket then plug the USB cable connected to the AC power adapter to your camera

the USB cable should have an indicator (RED) if it is already charging and (GREEN) when its done

SOunds to me like the charge board inside the laptop has gone bad. If it will not run off of the mains supply without the battery and will not charge the battery, this is your problem. AS far as where you can get the parts or have it repaired. I am unsure of because I would need the full model and make of the laptop which didn't fit in the listing title bar above If you could send me more info, I would be glad to try to help.

Sony DCR-VX1000E batteries

Li-Ion batteries cannot be charged efficiently with power supplies or NiCad chargers, they need a pulse charger dedicated to Li-Ion batteries. Also, there is a danger in charging with other sources as Li-Ion batts. will catch fire or explode if not charged properly. Please get a charger that is made for those batteries
