Question about Locks & Locksmithing
There are several problems that may have caused this issue. first, try and spray some lube into the lock and cycle the key in and out a few times and then try to open the lock using the key, ( best to use a Teflon based lubrication ). if this does not work, look at your key and see if it is worn down,, you might just need to get a new key cut ( read by a locksmith and cut to code ). there could also be something going on with the latch mechanism inside the door,, and if you take the inside door panel off you should be able to see if this in fact is the problem. if you want to killl two birds with one stone and just have the thing fixed, then I would say take the car to a auto locksmith and have them take a look at it. it is free to look and most of the time the fix is simple and inexpensive.
hope it all works out,

Same thing happened with mine. It turned out that the
power door lock motor went out. Since the handle or the switch can unlock the
driver's door, both of these mechanisms are connected. When the door lock motor
goes out it freezes in whatever position, it was last engaged.
