Usually their is a button that has a finger icon on it. press it to unlock usually near the touch pad... hope you can locate it or if you have the manual find where it is located.

Turning the TouchPad on and off
The TouchPad is turned on at the factory. When the TouchPad zone is active, the light is off.
To turn the TouchPad on and off, quickly double-tap the TouchPad off indicator.
the indicator is on the top left side of TouchPad zone.
