-   My CF card was full, I changed it and immediately got the message of a CF card error and to replace the card. I replaced it with the one that was full and got the same message (it was fine before I took it out - just full). I bought a new (different brand) CF card and still the same error. When I tried to format the new card in the camera, I got the error 99 (which from my research seems to be a general error usually relating to the lens contact points). I have replaced the battery and cleaned the contact points for the lens. Camera is a month out of warranty.

-   Somebody Please Help! I'm having the same issue with all 3 of my CFs! -   jodiejean27
Check with a magnifier and a flashlight the conditions of the CF memory reader pins. Usually this kind of cameras have the common problem of have bent or broken the CF reader pins. This may caused the original CF error. If you tried to format a CF memory card, then the bent or broken pins may caused the Error 99. By the way, error 99 is applicable to a very open range of problems (lens contacts, faulty shutter, CF memory card access errors, etc). If is under warranty your camera, once you confirm the reason of the problem, send it to Canon for repair. If is out of warranty, you need somebody to repair it, which is not easy for the common person. If need help on repairing it, please contact the ID user Great_items_2004 at ebay. Regards and good luck.

my child spilt soda in my purse and my canon powershot sd770 is digital elph was in it. I quikly dried it off and then powerd it up and it seemed fine, later that evening I powerd it up again and it wouldn't. So I charged the battery over night and still wouldn't power on. This camera is only about 6 months old. What do i do?
