Lens caps either screw on and off or just pop off.

What to sayto family mbrs at funeral

If you were close to the deceased talk about how great the person that passed was and how you remember them and how you will miss them. A funeral is a time to celebrate a persons life. Being at the funeral is important and that you are supporting your family members at their time of grief. If not so close say something like I am sorry to hear of {family member} passing and my thought are with you at this time.
Do not say I know how you are feeling because grief affects people in different ways,
Don't say the word death or dead use passed away or passed over or at rest.

I just brought a new AF-s 70-200 lense and I can't get the lens cap off. It is on so tight - I hate to force it - is there a button I should be pushing?

You have purchased a very high quality lens that is one of the main optics carried and therefore beat around by working photogs all over the world (I have the same model as well as the slightly less rugged 80-200 f2.8).

Becuase of this there are certain differences in teh lens that may be new to you. If you examine the bezel you will see that it is fully metal threaded even at 77mm and only contains a small rubber O ring. This is done for two reasons. Most importantly the quality of the lens means there si a major emphasis on vibration reduction. This is also why you will notice the lack of an actual apeture ring to bounce up and down, as well as zero external moving parts during zooms or focus.

Second it guarentees a solid mate between a specific filter and the bare lens and you dont risk a minor angle distortion as light passes through both pieces of glass.
While the lenses and filters are metal capped. The lens cap is plastic. It therefore will dig slightly into the much harder and un damagable metal rings. Simply squeez both releases on the cap all the way, twist the cap a quarter turn or so and pull quickly and sharply on one edge. this will like be the only time tha tyou will have to deal with this. Once you re attach the cap later, try to spin it a little bit on the threads themselves. the two peices will mate just fine I promise.

Hello, i want to know if the f/stop function on a camera is used in conjunction with the shutter speed.

Yes. The shutter speed controls how long light is allowed to pass through the lens, while the f/stop controls how much light is passed through the lens. If you change one, the other must also change to keep the total amount of light the same.

Think of filling a swimming pool with water. You can use a small garden hose, but it will take a long time. Or you can use a large fire hose and take less time.

A larger aperture (smaller f/number) produces a narrower depth of field, so that objects in front of and behind the subject become blurry. This is generally desirable for portraits, so that the face stands out from the background. A smaller aperture (larger f/number) produces a wider depth of field, so that more objects are sharper. This is generally desirable for scenic and landscapes, so that objects in the foreground (flowers, trees, family members) are just as sharp as the objects in the background (mountains, ocean).

My fujifilm s1000 keeps showing "zoom error." I don't know what happend. It's like one day it's working, the next not. I have a family member graduating Friday and can't afford a new camera. I've taken out...

If you try turning on the camera with the lens cap on, you may get zoom error. Ensure that you are removing the lens cap before turning on the camera.

If the autofocus ring is held while taking the picture, or operating the lens this will also cause the Zoom error message coming up.

If that is not the problem, then the lens has troubles extending. This may happen because of dust stuck in lens mechanism, or because of a mechanical fault concerning the lens.
Any cause preventing lens from full extention or retraction will trigger zoom error.

I do have old Nikon lens manual 1.2/50 mm,want to use it with modern digital SLR-which one can be used with, where I can get converter?

No converter needed. The lens will fit on every Nikon dSLR ever made. However, there are two things to keep in mind. One, most dSLRs have a sensor smaller than a frame of 35mm film. Thus, the camera only captures the central portion of the image, effectively giving you the same field of view as a 75mm lens instead of a 50mm lens. This applies to every camera except the D700 and the D3 family.

Two, this lens will shut off the meter on most dSLRs. You'll need the D700, D300 family, or the D3 family to be able to use the camera meter with this lens.

Under My seat is a wire with yellow connector.

Probably for some sensor located in car seat telling computer that someone is seated there and possibly activating air bag circuit. Those bags are expensive and you do not want opening when not necessary.
