What is error code 1 for a maytag domestic super capacity front loader MAF1300AAW and a wiring diagram would also be handy...

  • jhaines982 Jan 02, 2011

the error code is "error code 1" on its own, would this be different to 01, please recheck model, it is definitely a maytag maf1300aaw super capicity front loader domestic. Have tried resetting numerous times, our control module isnt grey and is not held in by 3 screws, but there is a small clear hose coming from a cylindrical component which is free to blow through. would this be the control module you are talkingn about. Really need a wiring diagram, doesnt come up when I put a search in!! My husband is a fridgey and he wants to fix it himself.

  • jhaines982 Jan 04, 2011

I am in Australia, still need to know what error 1 is for a maytag domestic front load super capacity maf1300aaw, and I still need a wiring diagram for this particular model. There is no tech info inside the washer.

Are you sure it is a 1 and not a L.

  • If an "L" appears upon the electronic display area of your Maytag washer, it is indicative of the washing machine's lid failing to lock properly. When an "L" error code appears, it is normally caused by one of two issues, a faulty lid locking switch, which is designed to hold the lid securely closed during the wash cycle, or a faulty lock solenoid sensor, which is designed to display a warning signal that the lid is not locked securely. Replacement of the needed part should correct the issue and the error code should disappear. The cost of a new lid switch or solenoid sensor will vary based upon dealer and type of machine; as of July 2010, the average cost for these parts ranged between $200 and $300 each. If the issue persists, there may be an issue within the machine's electronic display board that should be investigated by a Maytag approved repair technician.

  • F 01 is the computer board. You can try and reset this by not turning machine off but unplugging it from the wall for several minuts to see if it re-sets. These computer boards are very sensitive make sure you plug the washer into a surge protector . Before you call for a replacement board try this,Remove the three screws on the rear of the control panel and lift it up. Disconnect the rubber hose on the right side of the gray control module and blow through it to make sure it is clear and not kinked. If this check is fine then your control module needs replaced.
This is a failry common issue with maytag washers and they know about it, you might want to contact them for any warranty or recall info. The only good news is that it is an easy, though expensive, replacement

There should be a tech sheet somewhere inside the washer cabinet if someone hasn't removed it. It is usually inside the front lower part. I may have to bow out of this one, I can't seem to find any repair information on this model, in fact all I get is blanks when I reference it. I am not personally familiar with this machine and the advice was a general advice, everthing I can find still points to the lid switch or control panel as the culprit. Is this machine located outside the US by any chance? for some reason I can't even find it listed anywhere! Check and see if the tech sheet is not inside the lower front panel.

    Hi,

    Go here

Scroll down to the Maytag section and you'll get the codes...

As for the wiring... the model you gave is not a correct number... recheck and then do a search for "maytag wiring diagrams model xxxxx" and it should come up for you...

    Beep Code Explained

Thanks to Transcend Technical Support for this great Brief of understanding beep codes that is found here
This is a long post and it may be truncated at the bottom. If so, use the link above to go to the Transcend web site where these are found

1.General POST (initial system boot) BEEP Codes
If you do not know the BIOS manufacturer, the following will be the general Beep codes:
    • 1 Long and 1 Short Beep ?Bad Motherboard
    • 1 Short Beep and nothing else happens ?Disk Drive/Video Related Problems
    • 1 Long and 2 Short Beeps ?Bad Video Card
    • 1 Continuous Beep or Non-stop short Beeps ?Bad Power Supply
    • 3 Short Beeps - Bad Memory
2.American Megatrends Inc. (AMI) BEEP Codes
    • 1 Beep - Memory refresh timer error.
Reseat the memory, or replace with known good modules.
    • 2 Beeps - Parity Error
Reseat the memory, or replace with known good modules.
    • 3 Beeps - Main memory read / write test error.
Reseat the memory, or replace with known good modules.
    • 4 Beeps - Motherboard timer not operational
    • 5 Beeps - Processor Errors
    • 6 Beeps - Keyboard controller BAT test error.
    • 7 Beeps - General exception error.
    • 8 Beeps - Display memory error.
If the system video adapter is an add-in card, replace or reseat the video adapter. If the video adapter is an integrated part of the system board, the board may be faulty.
    • 9 Beeps - ROM checksum error
    • 10 Beeps - CMOS shutdown register read/write error
    • 11 Beeps - Cache Memory Bad

    Beeps 4-7, 9-11
Fatal error indicating a serious problem with the system. Consult your system manufacturer.
Before declaring the motherboard beyond all hope, eliminate the possibility of interference by a malfunctioning add-in card. Remove all expansion cards except the video adapter.
?If the beep codes are generated even when all other expansion cards are absent, the motherboard has a serious problem. Consult your system manufacturer.
?If the beep codes are not generated when all other expansion cards are absent, one of the add-in cards is causing the malfunction. Insert the cards back into the system one at a time until the problem happens again. This will reveal the malfunctioning add-in card.
    3.Award Bios BEEP Codes
    1 Long Beep: Memory problem
Explanation: There is a failure of some sort related to the system memory.
Diagnosis: The first bank of memory probably has a failure of some sort; this is usually just a physical problem such as an incorrectly inserted module, but may also mean a bad memory chip in a module. It is possible that there is a failure related to the motherboard or a system device as well.

    • 1 Long, then 2 Short Beeps: Video error
Explanation: The BIOS is unable to access the video system in order to write any error messages to the screen.
Diagnosis: This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card. It can also be a motherboard issue.
    • 1 Long, then 3 Short Beeps: Video error
Explanation: The BIOS is unable to access the video system in order to write any error messages to the screen.
Diagnosis: This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card. It can also be a motherboard issue.
    • Continuous Beeping: Memory or video problem
Explanation: The system is producing constant beeping in no specific pattern, or a fast "ringing" sound.
Diagnosis: This is usually caused by a problem with the system memory, or possibly the video card. The memory is more likely--the system complains long and loud if it can't find any usable memory, as there is no way to even start the boot process when this is the case. The motherboard itself could also be the problem.
    • Other Beep Codes
Explanation: You have encountered an Award BIOS beep code I do not have documented.
Diagnosis: Award says that any beep patterns other than "one long followed by two short" are likely problems with the system memory. However, of late they have started adding other beep codes to their systems as well.
    4.Phoenix BEEP Codes

    • 1-1-3
Explanation: Your computer can't read the configuration information stored in the CMOS.
    Diagnosis: Replace the motherboard.

    • 1-1-4
Explanation: Your BIOS needs to be replaced.
Diagnosis: Got to your motherboard manufacturers web site and download the new Bios.
    • 1-2-1
Explanation: You have a bad timer chip on the motherboard.
    Diagnosis: Replace the motherboard.
    • 1-2-2 or 1-2-3 or 1-3-1 or 1-3-3 or 1-3-4 or 1-4-1
    Explanation: Motherboards is bad.
    Diagnosis: Replace the motherboard.
    • 1-4-2
Explanation: Some of your memory is bad.
Diagnosis: Go to Basic Trouble Shooting
    • 1-3-1
    Explanation: Motherboards is bad.
    Diagnosis: Replace the motherboard.
    • 2-_-_ Any combination of beeps after two
Explanation: Some of your memory might be bad.
Diagnosis: Go to Basic Trouble Shooting
    • 3-1-_
Explanation: One of the chips on your motherboard is broken.
    Diagnosis: Replace the motherboard.
    • 3-2-4
    Explanation: Keyboard controller failure.
    Diagnosis:
    • 3-3-4
Explanation: Your computer can't find the video card.
Diagnosis: Is it there? If so, try swapping it with another one and see if it works.

I have a front loader MHWE3000VW12 it's giving me a code F70 Ineed to know what it means

    Hi,

F70 and F71 are two logic board error codes that point at a communication error between the main logic module and the control pad (user interface and CCU), and between the motor control unit and central control (MCU, andd CCU that is main control module).
Repair is difficult, as motor, wiring and voltages from control modules must be tested.

Try first doing a reset, by disconnecting power cord or tripping circuit breaker and leaving power off for five minutes.

If that does not help and errors come back, then the best thing to do is calling the service number listed on the user manual.

Here extensive explanation of error codes and relative troubleshooting:

F70: CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the Central Control Unit to the User Interface.

    1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
    2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
    3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
    4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving

    F71: USER INTERFACE HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the User Interface to the Central Control Unit.

    1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
    2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
    3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
    4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving.

To get parts and diagrams try entering the full model number in one of the websites below:

    Enter the model number ..

To contact a repairer, call the number listed on the owners manual or use the Fixya directory (US only)

    Thanks

Why my dvd players show error f 16.i aslo cant`t on my player and then the error dissappear.why?

    Hello,
Are you sure you are not getting a code F61? I don't see in the manual a code f-16. It's says to "When a unit displays F61 - check and correct the speaker cable connections, If this does not fix the problem then consult the dealer." That is strait out of the manual for your theater system. I have uploaded a couple of diagrams to aid you with double checking your wiring. Should this not work then you must contact your dealer.
    Regards,
    Tont

When we start our Maytag Series 3000 washer we are getting a F-29 code about half the time. What is a F-29 code?

"F29" is a door latch error code. The following link explains many causes of the error and possible recommendations to correct the problem:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608614-f29_error_code

For an explanation of all the error codes, each one of these washers comes with a technical data sheet inside.

To access, you will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door. The access screws are located under the bottom front edge of the panel. You may have to prop the two front feet of the washer up for better access ( a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed, the panel should drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet isn't directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls.

The tech sheet lists all error code definitions, troubleshooting data, diagnostics procedures and wiring diagrams. I mention the tech sheet because you may need it to troubleshoot this error code.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

    searspartsdirect.com
    pcappliancerepair.com
    appliancepartspros.com
    repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

Read through the information provided and if you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Maytag MAF1300AAW Error code 4. The machine starts to fill then drains which is repeated several times before eror code 4 appears.

Hi this searstechtoo I did some research on similar american models and will paste what I found for you.
    Will Not Lock
    • Door not all the way closed or not properly
aligned. Possible laundry load is too large to
    close door.
    • Place washer into Service Mode and check for
    diagnostic codes 4 &18.
    • Perform Board Output Test. Check door lock
    system.
    • Check electrical connections at lock switch
assembly and machine control board (CN2).
Cn2 is a thermistor used in a wax motor to control the lock and unlock feature of the door.
I would start at the lock and trace the wires then unplug and replug them.
    Thanks SearsTechToo
