My Side and rear fan are not turning at all. If I nudge the side fan it will go on its own but the rear fan wont start at all. The cpu fan and PS fan work fine and the front case fan works fine. Im getting ready to take the case back to microcenter

No video, hard not running, fan not spinning, but i try my memory to another laptop, its working. and power is stable. pls help me to fix my tg averatec 8200 series?

Had you notice that the laptop would start up, then a while-time later would shut down ? Were there times that you had to keep turning on the laptop because it would shot down?.Have you notice that the FAN was not spining?, did not hear it (noise) spin?
If that is so, you could have damaged the MOST important part of the laptop...the CPU (Central Processing Unit) It is the heart of the computer\laptop. Try one more thing. Place to the side of the laptop where the FAN output would be a FAN (could be small, but MUST be powerful) blowing at an angle INTO the laptop. Turn the laptop on (by the way REPLACE memory sticks and anything that you took out). If the cpu is damaged it may be have to be replaced. It can be done, but sometimes difficult!!
P.S. you must see if your original FAN is working, then that must be replaced also...

Ice Maker quit, everything started to thaw out.

Good day,
Limited information. The ice maker will go into auto lockout if the freezer goes above 14 degrees.
Motors make noise.
There is a fan motor behind the back wall, of the freezer compartment. If the machine is turned on, it should run, and you should be able to hear it.
If not, remove the rear panel and inspect.
The second fan motor, is located in the back rear of the machine, behind the rear cover, it should be running as well.
If both are running O.K. then it is in the compressor itself.
A pricey problem, if it's the compressor. Should be checked by a qualified tech.

P.S. If you feel it is a compressor problem, and the unit is less than 5 years of age, then contact your selling dealer. It would be under warranty.

Thank you for using FixYa

I am in the process of setting up a barebones VBBI-2N7300 (installing Windows 7 on new sata drive) and noticed that the clear fan on the side and the large muffin fan in the rear are not on. Please advise....

There should be 2 male fan connectors on the motherboard, one is for the CPU fan and the other is for the case or system fan, this will marked on the motherboard and are usually white in colour.
The case or system fan are not usually temperature controlled but in some cases you can adjust the speed in the BIOS, the CPU fan however is temperature controlled.

the fan in the machine collects dust and fuzz in side the housing. Most of it you cant see without taking the fan out. Mine had a lot of stuff built up and burnt out the fan.Now I have to find one I can afford. Thank you all for your help---Jeanie-Marie ps use a 5 or 6 volt power sorce to check the fan to see if it is working--the machine will not start if the fan does not work

Help my computer wont start if I close my lid ....

It sounds to me that there might be a lose connection somewhere. The first thing to do is make sure that all cables are securely fastened.

When you say that your computer won't start when you put the cover back on and lay it on it's side does it respond at all when you hit the power button? Lights, anything displayed on the monitor, fan noise, etc.? Also when you leave the cover off is the computer laid on it's side like when the cover is on? does it work laying on it's side with the cover off?

Wont start up

my wife has a presario that had a similar problem - it would boot up, then immediately shut down. I took off the side plate and blew off some of the dust inside. that worked for a couple of days then the symptoms returned. I took it apart again but this time I removed the cpu fan and the cpu heat sink. I cleaned all the **** off the fan and the heat sink and replaced it. this time it stayed on. I checked out the power supply. compaq installed a very cheap power supply - only 250 watts. a replacement power supply for the same machine but with an output of 300 watts is available. as soon as I can scrape up the change, I'm gonna change the PS
