Question about Universal Kreepy Krauly In-Ground Pool Cleaner

1 Answer

Pool Pump starts up although a red light is on saying "No Water Flow". Kreepy Krawly does not move or even make a sound. I haven't moved any of the water valves so technically no setting have been changed that should cause it to stop working

My hurlcon CX 240 pool pump has good return pressure but very low suction from the pool and wont opperate the kreepy krawly, Do I need a new pump? Thanks. Richard

no
what you may have is a blocked outlet--filter --tap incorrectly set
good pressure but no suction indicates that the pump is pumping but the pumped water has nowhere to go

Hurlcon pool pump. Lack of pressure. Creepy crawley will not pulsate. Pump working at 110 pressure - no change. Checked all joints with soapy water.

When you mention the 110 pressure with no change are you saying that the pump is operating at the same level as before and the Kreepy was functional with this level of pressure before? If this is the case then your problem is with the Kreepy itself. This sounds like something is in the Kreepy Krawly line or the unit itself. Many things can become lodged in the unit like acorns, bottle caps, or simply there is a leak in the vacuum hose. I would investigate the unit for impeding debris.

I have great water pressure in my pool, but the minute I attach my Kreepy Krawly, the pressure drops and there is a large vacuum in the pump reservoir. the Kreepy hardly moves at all thereafter.

It sounds like your you might not have all of your suction lines closed. Check to ensure that the main drain and all suction lines are closed, except for the suction line to which Kreepy Krauly is attached. If this is not the problem, it could be that the pool pump and filter system that you have may be too small It should be capable of providing at least 25 gallons per minute. These are common issues with these pool cleaners.

MY POOL CLEANER SUCKS (LITERALLY) BUT DOES NOT MAKE THAT "CLICKING SOUND" AND DOES NOT MOVE. HAS IT SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MOVEABLE PART. THERE ARE NO LEAVES IN THE PART ABOVE THE SKIRT AND...

Check your filter and pump basket for debris, also. Triple check the flaps. Debris is often the culprit with these pool cleaners when they malfunction. Check your return line water flow and make sure that it doesn't need to be adjusted.

Hi, I bought my Bull Shark Kreepy Krauly recently and from the start it lifted up at the end and does not move flat on the surface of the swimming pool. Please assist.

If it has never worked properly, it could be that your pump and filter system are too small for this particular automatic pool cleaner. If you don't feel that this is the case, there a few things that you can check. Make sure that there is not debris in the flapper. It could be causing a loss of suction, making the pool cleaner rise off the floor of the pool. Also, check your water flow coming from your return line. It could be too high. You can adjust it with an eyeball diverter if necessary.

My Kreepy Krauly won't move. I've checked the hose for holes and also replaced the vinyl suction cup on the bottom but it won't budge. Doesn't appear that there is much suction. Could it be something...

Yes, it could. Check the filter and pump for debris. This could severely restrict movement in these pool cleaners. Also, check the flaps of the Kreepy Krauly for debris. Also, check to make sure that the main drain and ALL suction lines, except the one the cleaner is attached to, are closed. This might also be why you have a lack of suction. My final suggestions would be to check the return line water flow and make sure that it is strong enough.

I took my creepy apart and I can't get it back together. Could I have a schematic?

Your picture says that you have a baracuda, but if you have a kreepy I can help. Here is the owners manual for the Kreepy Krawly. These automatic pool cleaners are not hard to get back together with instructions.

My Kreepy Krawly always gets stuck!

You will get a current going in the pool that will drive the cleaner into some spots that it can't get out of. The steps are a good spot for this.
If you move the return eyeballs around usually point them down this will help. This will stop any action on the surface of the pool as far as pushing things into the skimmer but the action of the hose jiggeling should help to break the surface tention of the pool and get leaves and such to sink so the cleaner to pick them up.
If you don't have eyeball returns then you can get dirveters that slide into the return lines to break these currents for you.
Hope this helps and good luck.
