My toilet has a 1 yr old fluidmaster valve assembly bad it takes nearly 3 minutes to fill after flush,a make s a loud hissing sound. I have another toilet thank takes 36 seconds to fill and more quiet,...

The fill valve may be clogged with dirt or scale. After turning the water supply valve off remove the top of the valve by grasping the black cap section with one hand and the shaft section below with the other. Turn 1/4 turn and the top should come off. Check for any dirt or scale on the top section. Take a paper or plastic cup and turn it up side down holding firmly over shaft section, turn water on to toilet ,water is going to come out under pressure so be prepared to hold cup firmly to catch water and divert it down into tank. This will allow any dirt or scale in the line to be flushed out. Turn water back off reassemble cap section and turn water back on.try flushing toilet to see if problem has been solved.
Hope this helps.

When flush my toilet, water keep running until i put my hand inside the middle and pull the float , then stop. toilet make is rapid sl

the ball **** fill valve is a poorly designed valve. replace it with a fluidmaster fill valve and a fluidmaster flapper. flappers do go bad after a year or ten depending on your water quality and choice of flapper but the fluidmaster fill valve will last a long time also. you can also get the water saver fill valve by fluidmaster and there is also a conversion set to change your toilet to a dual flush. all this is at lowes and there is a plumbing pro there to explain further. feel free to give me a positive rating. thanks!

I replaced my fluid master and now it will not stop filling in the tank.

Try lifting the float part of the valve. If the water stops filling, reset the float level lower.
If water does not stop when lifting the float, flush out the valve according to the instructions - steps 12 - 15.

12. IMPORTANT: Always clear sand and rust from system. Make sure

water supply is shut off. Remove valve TOP by lifting arm and rotating

top and arm 1/8 turn counterclockwise, pressing down slightly on cap.

13. While holding a container over the uncapped VALVE to prevent

splashing, turn water supply on and off a few times. Leave water

supply off.

14. Replace TOP by engaging lugs and rotating 1/8 turn clockwise. MAKE

15. Turn on water supply. Adjust water to desired level by squeezing water

level adjustment clip and moving FLOAT CUP up or down along stainless
steel link. Check for leaks, then check for proper flush.

If valve continues to run:

• There may be debris at seal - repeat Steps 12-15.

• The seal inside the valve top may be damaged -replace with genuine
Fluidmaster 242 seal.

The buoy or float cup as it is known by may not be the problem. Try removing the fluidmaster top cap assembly and flush our the valve for debris. If the valve is several years old you may want to replace the top cap seal with model 242.

I have installed a fluidmaster 400 bottom inlet

I have installed 400A or 400LS valves on systems as low as 30psi, but below that I don't know that it would work very well if you needed it to fill faster.

Keep in mind that your pressure to the toilet will be 1/2psi for every foot above the fill level of the tank, which is reduced by friction loss in the pipe and fittings on the way to the toilet.
