It is probably a bad chip on the main board.I used to work at United Radio in Syracuse,NY on Nintendos and would see that.I forget what the charge is to repair an NES,maybe $40?There should be a sticker on your console with the phone number to Nintendo to ask them about it,or you can google Nintendo to talk to them.If you send everything, they will replace the controllers, replace the board, and clean the games. It's up to you to determine if it's worth it.When I was younger,we used to take and cut a slim piece of paper, about 1/8-1/4" thick and put it over the pins and stick in the game.On Mario,it used to show you where all the hidden stuff was,if you got the right spot.Good luck!

I have changed the pin connector on my nes, it does not flash anymore but now i get a blank screen can someone help me?

First try connecting through the av ports on the side of the console rather than the RF port on the rear of the unit.

If that doesn't work then your problem is likely a loose connection inside, go back in and reassemble.

I have had this issue with several consoles; these two solutions usually take care of it, though in rare cases a defective 72 pin connector was at fault even though it was brand new.

Good luck.

You may have damaged something on the board during the process. I suggest going over what you did, making sure the 72 pin connector is seated properly so the connection can be made cleanly, and if all else fails snag another one on ebay and try again...

Clean your games too once you replace the 72 pin connector or you're just dirtying it up again. Not to mention the games has enough crud to keep them from working correctly.

It's as simple as unscrewing the console by removing all the screws from the bottom. Once inside take off the metal piece over the area where the game is inserted. Once under there you can remove the two screws that hold the 72 pin connector in and pull it out and slip a new one in. Put it back together in reverse.
