We have a black@decker stainless dome kettle (red) electric kettle. we've used it for a couple years and it works great, but there are deposits inside basin that we can't get off with soap/water. they're almost like lime deposits. we think it's from our water. now we're afraid to use it because of the deposits. any ideas on how to clean it?

Fill it with vinegar and leave to soak overnight/for two nights if really bad.
Any parts which are impossible to fill with vinegar - lids/spouts, soak a cloth or tissue in vinegar and wrap/wedge into....and leave to soak overnight.

The lining of the kettle on the inside bottom is boiling away. What is it made of and is this dangerous?

Stainless Steel doesn't boil away. What you're seeing is the mineral deposits (mostly calcium) left behind from heating the heavy water you're pouring into the kettle. Descale it, pour it out and rinse every month or when it gets bad if you like. These deposits won't hurt you but looks nasty. Another option is to use filtered water instead of tap water. Hope this helps a little...

There are too much mineral residue in the bottom of ny kettle PLs show me how to remove it , my is about 10 month s old!!

You can remove it by using baking soda, or use the stain remover available in household hardware shop. There instruction in the box so just follow it.
Also when mineral residue is remove. Use a fitered water for boiling the water, filtered water doesn't stain must compare to tap water.
I hope I help you solve your problem.

Black & Decker electric tea kettle leaks.

CALL Black & Decker Customer Service at 1-800-231-9786 and they will replace the unit. They will ask for the model number CK1500R from the bottom of the base and the number on the prong of the plug, mine was 626XO. They will ask you to keep the old one until you receive a letter from them about what to do with the old kettle and the new one in a separate box. All free. Cool.

Cordless Electric Kettle won't turn on anymore.

Sounds like dirty contacts in the base.
UNPLUG THE BASE BEFORE CONTINUING ANY FURTHER!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!
Once Base is definitely unplugged, take it outside and use a piece of fine grit sandpaper inserted in the contacts to give it a good rub all around. Also polish the contacts on the base of the kettle.
Blow the contacts out to make sure there's no grit remaining, and then plug in and test again. You might need to do this a couple of times.
However, make sure it is UNPLUGGED before you touch any contacts!

Black&decker smartboil leaks

I work for Black and Decker customer support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-231-9786.

If the unit is leaking, it needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, the unit can't be repaired. The unit comes with a one year warranty from the date of purchase. Please call the number above so that we can determine your warranty eligibility.

While this doesn't actually solve your problem, I hope the information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
