How to conect internet to pc & laptop

the easy way would be to get a router and plug your internet device(cable modem, dsl modem etc.)into the router and then you computer and laptop, most newer routers are wired and wireless so if your laptop has wireless in it then you dont need to use another cable. Also i would recommend the netgear wgr614v10 router its a very good router and easy to set up,comes with color codes and directions. It can be purchased at any walmart, bestbuy, compusa,or most other electronics stores, and the price isnt bad either, here where i live it cost me around 40.00,some places are cheeper.

I can't get the passphrase box to come up when connecting to the internet, so I think the connection is not secure. The router is a Netgear WGR614v10 wireless.

It requires setup. Did you do anything to it when you first installed it? By default, open internet explorer and go to (just type that in the address bar). If the login comes up, use admin and password. If it opens up the Netgear control panel, start by going to Wireless Settings and change your security options. Just before you finish, also change the router's password to something other than "password".

Link the netgear wgr614v10 to linksys wireless adapter

First you will need to check the wireless settings of the router. Do you have any computer connected to the router ? If not then connect the computer to the router and open the set up page of the router, check the wireless settings of the router.
Once you have all the wireless settings of the router then you can try to connect to the wireless network on your wireless computer.
