Question about Her Interactive Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion for Windows
I have a acer aspire with windows 7. when i tried to install my nancy drew games i was able to install but not play. so i looked it up on you tube and i found that you first need to make a new folder in your documents labeled what ever you want.
then put the disk in and install and when the auto run pops up click on to the very bottom where it says "open folder to view files using windows explorer" under general options
then click on setup, there are to setups to choose from. click on the second one.
then it will start installing keep clicking "next" until you get to where you want to save the files to. there you will find and select your folder that you created in your documents.
click finish and your done.
it should play. trust me it works im so thankful for you tube now im able to play my games ive been so dying to play.
Hope this helped

I found a possible solution for this problem with another older Nancy Drew Game; I would try this solution and see if it helps with your problems.
The game is too old to run on Vista (assuming that's what you have) but it's easy to fix.
Just do this:
•First, uninstall the game.
•Next, reinstall the game--but don't do AutoPlay. Instead, go into my computer, right-click on the game's icon, and choose "explore".
•You need to then find the "setup" icon, and choose "properties". There's more than one "setup" icon, but only one that allows you to choose "properties".
•After that, go to the compatibility tab, and check the box that says something like "make compatible for"...choose XP, or ME/2000 if you want to play it safe.
•Exit out of the My Computer screen (though in Vista, it's just called Computer). On the start menu, open up your **Documents** window.
•Create a new folder and name in Message in a Haunted Mansion, or something you will, without a doubt, remember.
•Go back to Computer, double click on "setup" and start installing.
•Install as normal, but when you get to the part where you save the game, it's very important that you save it in the documents folder you created. Otherwise, it won't automatically create a folder for itself, and problems occur.
Here is the link to the solution I found:

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
