Answer is not good enough, I have a Dane elec 1 tb hdmi+ multi media player, some movies are ok but most have a delay of about 2 seconds on the sound, and this gets worse as the movie progress. All the movies are in avi format and I have tried removing and reloading them.

According to you your media player can't synchronize with sound and video.

Don't worry It's not a serious problem.

first the source of the movie is not corrupted.

when the problem arise pause and resume the movie 1 or 2 time. It can resynchronize sound and video.

Reset your media player settings.

Format the storage.

Your media player will have "preference" or "options" menu. You have to go there. There may be multiple tabs. Visit each tab. If there is a "reset" press it. If no reset button then try to put the original value in each of the option.
To format, you have to connect the 1tb disk to any computer. When the drive is detected, you have to right click on the drive. A drop down list will come. Click "format".

Try to turn off the player and turn it on again. Observe if the player will have its sound off for 2 secs or more.

No sound on streaming movies

are you using hdmi cable? is the roku connected to a receiver? if yes and it is set to 5.1 surround sound, it's possible that the movies that doesn't have any audio doesn't support surround sound. You may need to set the audio settings to stereo.

Iomega screenplay dx

It may depend on what type of file system you chose when formatting it. For file-type support beyong 1.5 Gb, such as high-resolution videos, aka. HD movies, Iomega should be able to recognize NTFS file system. Perhaps you chose FAT, or FAT32? In that case Iomega may not recognize it.

Run DVD through tuner

ok a bit confused, Tuner ? like amplifier or Tv Tuner ? regardless seems like a easy fix .

First your cable box as 3 cables:1st . Power cable to outlet
2nd. From the wall ( usually a Coaxial cable coming from outside box ) into cable box.3rd. HDMI or Second coaxial cable ( One of these usually goes to the back or side of your Tv depending where inputs are located.)
Now Dvd has 2 cables 1st to Power2nd. To TV ( Hdmi or Coaxial )
On the back of your Tv will have 2-3 HDMI inputs . Assign 1HDMI jack to each media your trying to use.In this case TV HDMI 1, HDMI 2 DVD.
Assigning HDMI's will now reflect on your TV menu selection. Choosing HDMi 1 or HDMI2 from Tv menu will allow you use or view desired Media option in this case DVD or TV.
Now if there is Amplifier / Tuner involved like to connect surround sound to, connection may be a bit trickier however same principal.Plug all media into HDMI 1, HDMI 2, respectively, this time to the back of the tuner NOT to back of TV.Once you have done that You will need a third HDMI cable now from the back of the Tuner ( output Jack, usually has lighter color markings indicating Output HDMI) to your HDMI 1 jack in the back of your TV. Now you have bridge TV/ Cable , DVD into Receiver / Tuner and Selecting media will now be done not through TV Menu as before but through Tuner / Receiver menu or selection.
Good luck .

Good Luck

No sounds for movies

Does this card have 5.1 output or a combination of analog and digital output? If so when you go into
the movie player your using check to see how the options are setup do the options match your sound setup if your using a 2.1 sound system with the soundcard/movieplayer setup for 5.1 this
could easily cause the problem(or vice versa). Or if you have your sound system hooked up to analog sound and the movie player is using HDMI Check the settings with your movie player also check the settings under my computer-- control panel -- Sounds and Audio devices.

> these files play fine on Windows Media Player

Then, continue to use Windows Media Player.

Or, tell us what alternative program that you use that gives "sound-and-no-picture" or "picture-and-no-sound".
What version of that program?
Windows XP? Vista? 7?
Any more "possibly-relevant" details ?
