Question about HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook
It sounds like your reformat of the Hard Drive wiped Vista Gamer Ed and nothing is left on the system but ROM BIOS. Two fixes - (1) rewind time by extracting your HDD and installing it into a working system, then UNFORMAT the HDD, and retry Win7 install after booting into Vista Gamer Edition, or Better Solution:(2) retry Win7 install by installing Win7 from a bootable CD. It has to be a bootable Win7 install CD, since your computer is no longer bootable from the (reformatted) Hard Drive. How you know this: noisy beeps when you press any key to select any boot option or try to run the HP diagnostics.
