SD Card Error

When I try to read from the SD card through Zen, I get an error message saying "Errors were detected. Media might not be safely removed during copy. Proceed?" Also when I tried accessing the card on my computer, it worked fine. Any idea about the problem here?

I had a similar problem and after a bit of tooling around, I was able to get this to work for me. There are a couple of steps. Basically the problem is that the memory card wasn't properly disconnected from the player at some point so it's reading filesystem errors on it as a result. (Kinda like pulling out a USB key from a computer before you've "safely removed hardware". While your computer will tolerate this, your zen will not.) Here's how to safely remove disconnect your SD card after copying files to it.
1. First, if possible, reformat your SD card. This is not critical, but is a good practice so that you can sart from scratch with a totally fresh card.
2. Next, plug in your SD card to your player and turn it on. Navigate to the memory card menu, and place the memory card in "removable disk".
3. Plug the Zen into your computer, and go to "my computer". There should be a new disk called "removable disk" which is now shown along the rest of your hard drives. (Kinda like when you plug in a USB key drive. You're essentially doing the same thing here.)
4. Copy your files to the "removable disk".
5. VERY IMPORTANT: When you are done, right-click on the removable disk and choose "eject" fromt the menu that comes up. When a popup appears saying that your hardware is safe to remove, you can unplug the zen from the computer.
6. Now navigate to your memory card using your zen player, and choose "browse". It should come up now without any error.

I bought a 2gb micro sd memory card and it was working properly. After a week i tried to format it . Since that day my memory card became read-only . Then i scanned it using an error detecting software...

If you're using a SD card adapter to connect it to your computer, please verify that the adapter lock switch isn't active, this can set your SD as read only.

How to Recover Pictures From Fujifilm FinePix S700 Storage Media

With 7 mega pixel camera, 10x optical zoom, 2.5 LCD, picture stabilization mode, and i-Flash intelligent Flash, the Fujifilm FinePix S700 fulfills all the requirements of any photographer. The storage media (SD and xD memory cards) used in this camera allows the photographer to save audios, videos, and photos of different sizes. Damage in storage media can occur any time, resulting in fatal consequences, like inaccessibility of data saved in the memory card. In most cases, the photographer encounters an error message stating that the card is corrupted. To overcome such corruption scenarios, the photographer needs to restore the data from an updated backup. But all photographers do not create a backup on regular basis. For them, a third-party Camera recovery software acts as a boon and helps them recover the data.
As a real-world instance, you encounter the below error message while trying to view the pictures saved in your SD card (inserted in Fujifilm FinePix S700):
"CARD ERROR"
After the above error message pops up, the data saved in the SD card becomes inaccessible.
Cause:
Few main causes for the above error message are:
1.Incorrect SD card format.
2.Incompatible SD card.
3.Memory card corruption due to unexpected camera shutdown, virus infection, and interrupted read or write operation.
Resolution:
To resolve the above error message and to access the data saved in SD card, you will need to:
1.Use a compatible SD card.
2.In case of memory card corruption, format the card in Fujifilm FinePix S700 camera. Though formatting brings the card in reusable state, all the audio, video, and picture files get deleted. To recover the deleted data, you will need to choose a powerful Camera recovery software.
Such recovery tools use effective scanning methods to ensure complete Camera data recovery. These tools can be downloaded from the Internet and used by anybody. Such applications are safe as they harm the original data saved in the memory card.
Digital camera recovery software is a world-renowned Photo Recovery utility used for recovering data from almost every type of memory card. This software ensures complete recovery of digital files, irrespective of their size or type. Compatible with Windows and Mac OS X, the read only software also recovers data from other storage media, like Zip drives, hard drives, etc.

Magellan roadmate sd card error

I had a similar error and I fixed it. That is, as far as I know...

Here's my theory: The SD card is acting like it has an error on it. This often happens when it is removed improperly.

HERE'S HOW TO FIX IT:

  1. Remove your SD card from your GPS
  2. Insert your SD card into an SD card reader or connect it to your PC
  3. Wait for windows to go through it's process of discovering your the "removable storage device" your just connected (see step 2)
  4. (This step may be different depending on what version of Windows you are using or depending on how you have your OS laid out). Look at the lower right hand corner of your desktop. There should me a small icon there with a green circle and a check mark. It looks like this...877f33f.jpg
  5. Click that with the right mouse button.
  6. It will say "Safely Remove Hardware" - Left click that message.
  7. A window will pop up allowing you to select your SD card and "Safely Remove" it (it will have a letter name like "drive F" for example).
  8. Wait for the windows to tell you it is ok to remove your hardware - then remove your SD card form the PC
  9. Make sure your GPS is turned off.
  10. Insert the SD card into your GPS.
  11. Turn on your GPS
  12. That's all! I hope I was able to help.
IF THIS HELPED, please leave a comment indicating that it did! If it did not help, please let me know that as well.

Computer not recognizing SD card as external storage/Creative Zen

Try going to the memory card option on the main menu, then go to 'Removable Storage', then the Zen should either tell you to connect a USB cord or insert a memory card. Try it, if not I dont know.

ok connect the card reader & put memory & try going in safe mode ...
i hope you know how to go to safe mode ... (it is pressing f8 key before the OS boots)..

if still problem persists then Use FAT format to reformat.... when you put it into a MMC Card reader.
if it reads in your phone then try deleting everything in that ...
& also try to check the errors in that drive when connected to pc after this try formatting ........

Error 30

The "E30" error code indicates reading/writing data on a SD card has failed. Especially, the error code "E30" may appears when you tried to remove a SD card while the camera was processing data. Solution To clear the "E30" error, try performing the following procedure. 1. Try using another SD card. If you have another SD card, try loading it in the camera. If the error code is not displayed when the other SD card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera. 2. Use your computer's ScanDisk utility to check the SD card for errors. Use ScanDisk to check the SD card for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your operating system or Windows Help for further instructions. (If you are using a Macintosh, use the "Disk First Aid" program to check for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your Macintosh OS for further information.) Be sure to back up the data on the SD card on the computer before you check the SD card. If a card error or card failure occurs when you use your computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card. Follow ScanDisk's on-screen instructions to solve the problem. 3. Format the SD card with your camera Try to format the SD card with your camera. Please refer to the "Camera User Guide" for your camera for instructions on formatting SD cards. Also, please note that formatting a SD card will erase all data on the card. Once the SD card is formatted, follow the procedure described in step 2 above and use your computer's ScanDisk on your computer to check the SD card for errors. If a card error or card failure occurs when you are using computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card.
