SD Card Error

When I try to read from the SD card through Zen, I get an error message saying "Errors were detected. Media might not be safely removed during copy. Proceed?" Also when I tried accessing the card on my computer, it worked fine. Any idea about the problem here?

I had a similar problem and after a bit of tooling around, I was able to get this to work for me. There are a couple of steps. Basically the problem is that the memory card wasn't properly disconnected from the player at some point so it's reading filesystem errors on it as a result. (Kinda like pulling out a USB key from a computer before you've "safely removed hardware". While your computer will tolerate this, your zen will not.) Here's how to safely remove disconnect your SD card after copying files to it.
1. First, if possible, reformat your SD card. This is not critical, but is a good practice so that you can sart from scratch with a totally fresh card.
2. Next, plug in your SD card to your player and turn it on. Navigate to the memory card menu, and place the memory card in "removable disk".
3. Plug the Zen into your computer, and go to "my computer". There should be a new disk called "removable disk" which is now shown along the rest of your hard drives. (Kinda like when you plug in a USB key drive. You're essentially doing the same thing here.)
4. Copy your files to the "removable disk".
5. VERY IMPORTANT: When you are done, right-click on the removable disk and choose "eject" fromt the menu that comes up. When a popup appears saying that your hardware is safe to remove, you can unplug the zen from the computer.
6. Now navigate to your memory card using your zen player, and choose "browse". It should come up now without any error.

I have a JXD661 with me. Whenever I insert the SD card that I bought along with it, the player gives me an error message that states ''Access SD card error''.

Hi dude utkarsh...
You did not mention what size SD memory card you are using, according to the website below, you can only use up to a 4 GB SD card.
If your using over a 4 GB card then the player will not work properly.
If you are using a 4 GB card or less, try using another card in the machine, it may be a malfunction in the card you bought.

My zen 30 gb player says hard disc problem. reset,re-boot tried all nothing works .have you got any idea to fix problem

With severe Disk problem, put your media player in USB disk mode and use Windows Explorer to attempt to repair it:
Open Windows Explorer -> drive 'Properties' -> Tools -> Error-Cheking -> Check now -> Tick all options -> Start
If errors are detected and repaired, some of the files will now be corrupted and you may need to re-install the firmware or do a 'hard reset'.
ps. If too many errors are detected, I would strongly suggest that you backup your player files to your PCLaptop if possible and re-FORMAT your player hard disk.

I followed the instructions on how to transfer files to and from your memory card for my zen. The computer shows the file as on the memory card but when I try to access the files from the player, it says...

Songs on your card are not in the same location has songs on the zen itself. You need to go to the SD card menu and the songs that are on the card will be there.

Computer not recognizing SD card as external storage/Creative Zen

Try going to the memory card option on the main menu, then go to 'Removable Storage', then the Zen should either tell you to connect a USB cord or insert a memory card. Try it, if not I dont know.

Additional SD card memory installed in the card slot

Check to see if it is the proper SD card. while several size ( memory) cards may fit the port the player may only recognise a 2 or 3 gig card.

Transferring music from pc to mass storage device.

Hi,

You said that you checkd the properties of all the 150 tracks right.

150 tracks is 560 MB.

The error message you are getting informs that there is nothing wrong with the player or something.

This eror rfers that the source file cannot be located by the system to transfer or the source file is corrupted.

Try the other source file.

Try transferring the other newly downloaded file.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck.

Free 4mb of space error , now NO SONGS

Try formatting both the internal memory and the SD card. It's possible that the SD card isn't formatted correctly for the Mix Max to read it. Depending on the size of the card you may need to format it in FAT32 instead of FAT.
