SOURCE: I threw away the instructions

All I did with mine was created a playlist on Windows Media Player and then plugged in my Riptunes (same model) using the cable that came with the MP3. After the Icon comes up that says your MP3 is on your drive (just the box that shows that you can play from your Media player)- go back into Media Player and press sync. It'll show it moving your music in the right hand corner. When it's done, it'll tell you that you can remove your MP3. You should be good to listen to your music at that point :)

SOURCE: I got a Polaroid PMP282-8

First off just download song off the internet and save it to the desktop where its easy to access. Then plugin mp3 and a window should pop up saying "mp3 access files using windows computer" click that one. Then just drag and drop the .mp3 file into the mp3 folder.

One of my children threw it off a bed and the screen has moved and now a section of the screen is not working... Vertical lines in 3 colours, first white then rainbow then black.

HELLO

I'm puzzled! Is this a DVD or CD machine? Either way it was not a good idea for your kids to chuck it!! However.....

If it is a DVD player with LCD screen - then the screen is gone! If it is a CD player - the LCD track/time display is gone!

CD player: It may be possible to have the display replaced depending on the make/model and age. It may not be cheap to do.

DVD Player: It will cost you more than a new one to have the screen replaced.

I advise that if you get a new one, keep it well away from your kids (:-).

I threw away the cardboard cd holder on my grandson's game and now he needs the key. Is there anyway to retrieve the key from the cd?

If its a PC game, than you may be able to go online and find a CD key generator for that game. It may take some digging around on the internet though. Go online, and search for "Halo Combat Evolved CD Key"
or add "generator" to the CD key part. That is a bummer Good luck. I can see both sides, he's probably a bit angry you threw it away, and you feel bad, so I'm sorry for both of you.

CAN I BUY ANOTHER REMOTE TO MY PORTABLE DVD PLAYER

You may be able to find a universal remote that will work for it. You will need to verify that it works for polaroid dvd player. Most universal remotes have supported devices listed on their website or on the back of the box.

Recorded message plays in Spanish. Husband threw the manual away.

Way too easy :-)

When you were listening to messages you probably pressed the SKIP button for longer than 2 seconds. Try pressing it and holding it again and see what happens.

Here's the manual link: http://www.home-electronics.net/ge/pc/IB/25942GE3_IB.pdf

A SanDisk Sansa m240 MP3 Player problem regarding the install cd!

First remove the Sansa from computer if you have attached it. 1. Open your Sansa mp3 player menu (with menu button next to volume control) 2. Choose settings 3. Choose USB 4. Change setting under USB from 'Auto Detect' to 'MSC' 5. Exit menu with menu button Plug your Sansa into computer with USB cable. You can now see the mp3 player as external drive, and you can drag mp3 files into it. Put your files into Sansa's Audible folder.
