Windows 8 doesn't print on network printer

Make sure you don't have the same printer installed more than once. If you do, that confuses the system and it confuses you. You might be printing to a printer that is offline if you have it installed more than once.

Click Start/Control Panel or Click Start/Settings/Control Panel. Look for Printers. Open it up and see if the same printer is listed more than once. If so, delete the extra printer.

If that's not the problem you have a driver issue.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Printer drivers.

Whit Windows 7 my Printer Xerox Docuprint P8x No driver exist. Please Help me!!!!

Before you can solve this problem, you must determine if the Xerox Docuprint P8x is supported under the operating system you are using, i.e. 7. You can find that information here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

You say you are using Windows 7 ... I'm guessing you recently upgraded your computer or OS from an earlier version and that your printer worked fine with 98 or Mel~ or XP or Vista.

If you find the printer listed, you will have your answer at that listing. If it is not listed, you CAN ask Xerox if you like, for support. Don't expect much help. It is time to upgrade your printer OR - get a computer with the operating system that supports the printer, i.e. anything pre 7. Then, you can create and transfer the document you want to print to the older computer and print it that way.

Probably not the answer you hoped for ... but I think you will find it is a correct answer.

How to fax from Acer Windows Vista using HDAUDIO Fax Modem

You have to add Microsoft Fax to your printers. You add this from add/remove Programs/Windows Components in XP, Vista should be similar. Once it's install just print your document to the Fax printer as you would to your regular printer. You will then be presented with a Wizard walking you through your Fax preferences and cover page settings.

To install a new local printer with the Add Printer Wizard, follow these steps:
1. Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar and then click Control Panel on the right side of the Start menu.
2. Click the Printers and Other Hardware hyperlink if the Control Panel window is in Category View.
Otherwise, double-click the Printers and Faxes icon if the Control Panel window is in Classic View.
3. Click the Add a Printer hyperlink in the Printers and Other Hardware window to start the Add Printer Wizard and then click the Next button, or press Enter to advance to the Local Printer or Printer Connection dialog box.
4. Make sure that the Add Printer Wizard selects the Local Printer radio button, and the Automatically Detect and Install my Plug and Play Printer check box beneath this radio button before you click the Next button.

7. Click the manufacturer and the model of the printer in the Manufacturers and Printers list boxes, respectively, of the Install Printer Software dialog box.
If you have a disk with the software for the printer, put it into your floppy or CD-ROM drive and then click the Have Disk button: Select the drive that contains this disk in the Copy Manufacturer's Files drop-down list box and then click OK.
8. Click the Next button to advance to the Name Your Printer dialog box.
If you want, edit the name for the printer in the Printer Name text box. I have a Roland Camm-1 CX-24 cutting machine that has a parallel connection. I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a Windows Vista OS. I have a USB to Parallel cable to connect the two. I have...

connect the printer and the comp. and boot up....windows should recognize the new device.
did you add the plotter to "add printers" and its driver and to the correct port?
make sure your plotter is on and loaded and function key pressed.
also some cable manufacturers supply a driver...so download one if need be.
what software are you using? is the software cutter driver set to the correct printer and port?
(by default it never is)!!

Can't install new home printer (brother HL-2170W); have limited computer skills. Computer is HP Pavilion w. Win XP Home Edition. Old broken printer is HP LaserJet 1150, which I installed easily w. HP CD...

I wouldn't worry about turning the printer on and connecting it, that's just to avoid picking up generic drivers before you install the ones from the disk.

It's possible your installation CD is faulty. Follow these steps:

1) Download the latest drivers from the address below and install them.

http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/eu/gb/en/model_top/monolaserpri/hl2170w_all.html?reg=eu&c=gb&lang=en&prod=hl2170w_all

2) Connect your printer with pc off and turn both the pc and printer on. Windows should automatically install the drivers. If not then open device manager and install from there.

I hope this helps,

erch.
