Question about Poulan Wild Thing 2375 18" Gas Chain Saw 2.5 Cuin

1 Answer

Will not start. changed to a new plug. Plug does have a spark. Seems to be getting gas as the more I pull the rope the more gas collects in the cylindar. Last spring I loaned it to a friend. Last summer I ran it briefly & it was idling extremely fast. I changed the gas before I tried to start it. Could the idle be messed up ? Idle Screw What is the approximate counter clockwise turns to get the idle in the "ballpark" to run ?

After I changed the blade my TB 554 edger won't start

you have flooded the motor..
remove the spark plug.. lay it aside.. pull the rope until you can't pull any more (you are trying to "clear/clean out" the engine) ... You may have fouled the spark plug too... take your old plug and go to Wal-mart..or the local parts store.. get a new one.. and it should run.

Toro Electric Start Problem

Remove spark plug and observe condition. Fouled with oil, bad motor. With plug removed pull rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray WD40 in spark plug hole, pull rope several times see if oil blows out. Spray a lot of starter fluid in spark plug hole, replace plug. Spray starter fluid in air cleaner area of carb, try to start. Replace spark plug, try to start. Ensure oil is full, all mowers have a low oil sensor now. 30w oil. Always use Stabile in gas.

Doesn't start has spark @ plug fuel @

try starting meaning pull the rope 6 times and then check the spark plug if its wet clean it or try a new plug, if its dry your not getting fuel in the cylinder which means carb problems. if you have a seringe or something to put some gas into the spark plug hole then install spark plug and try it. if it runs for a couple of seconds then you need to focus on the carb. only put a small amount of fuel in the plug hole if you try it otherwise youll be pulling on the rope for awhile before it will start. hope this helps.

Hi. I have a Briggs & Stratton 2800PSI gas pressure washer. I can get it to start, but after about 5 min, then it quits. I have cleaned the carb, change oil, changed plug, new gas, cleaned/checked...

if it wont start, check for spark.how you do that,ok take the spark plug wire out put it close to the sparkplug(use some gloves or something to insulate your self from get electric shot from the spark) find some one who pull the start rope, if you dont see any spark between wire and spark plug, tehre its not spark ,it will never start.you will have to remove the start recoil on the botton is like a damper whitch will have to be remove also ,on botton of it its like a coil whitch with the rotation of the damper when you pull the starter rope provoke the spark and send it to spark plug along with the gas combution get the engine started.that coil some time goes bad and have to be change.if you have electric starter. check the starter also.good luck

Lawn mower won't start

to check for firing remove the spark plug insert it in the plug boot and pull the rope while watching to see if the plug sparks be carefull not to touch the plug electrode while pulling the rope or it will shock you. If you don't have a spark, try a different plug. If still no spark the coil could be bad.

Haven't ran my generator since jan. 07'. Tried to start it and no go???

Can be several things. More than likely stale gas. Take the gas line off of the carb. or the tank. Let all of the gas pour out. Remove the spark plug. Pull the rope over and over until it stops blowing gas out of the plug hole. Replace the hose and fill up with new gas. Is the spark plug wet from gas? You can dry it out with a tourch or a blow dryer. Then plug it back to the wire and let it sit on the head of the motor, so it is getting ground. Pull the rope and see if it sparks. If it does the put plug back in and start it up?????

I can't get my Poulon leaf blower to start

So far everything looks good. You're getting fuel, and you're getting spark. Only problem, is you've gotten too much fuel in it, and need to get rid of some before you can proceed. Take that spark plug out, and pull the starting rope hard several times. This will force the largest amounts of fuel out. Now's the part where you'll have to trust me. Use a match or a lighter to "flash" the cylinder. Make sure you don't have excess fuel spilled over the blower, but hold that match or lighter right up to the spark plug hole, and it'll "puff" at you. Please don't look into the hole while you're doing this. Flash the cylinder, and then pull the rope again, and flash it again. Next, make sure the spark plug is dry then put it back in. Set your choke to full choke, and pull until it hits once. Then put the choke on half, and it should start within 3 pulls.

Petrol Engine will not start. The saw is a Stilh and I have not usaed it for 18 months

Ok first off drain all fuel out of the saw replace the fuel tank filter, then clean out the air cleaner, pull the spark plug out and with some and paper sand the spark plug so that it's clean. NEXT mix some new gas mix and add to the tank try putting the choke on full and pull rope about a dozen times then put choke in partial open and try starting. If it does not start pull spark plug and pull starter rope and see if you have spark if you do add a capfull of gas mix into the spark plug hole and tighten the spark plug down and try pull starting if it fires off and dies then you have a cracked fuel line and need to replace the fuel line. When you have the plug out spray a small amount of WD 40 into the sparkplug hole and pull the rope a few times to get rings lubracated then add the gas. If it won't start post here and I will give you more directions to test for starting again. HOPE THIS HELPS AND THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA.
