Hopefully there should be bo problems all you must do is switch it on.
I hate to think that something awfull could have happened to it.
Just in case have a read of my notes on dead machines.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like the electronics overheated. You'd have to pull it and examine the insides to see what has gone bad. It could be pretty much anything.

Powers off immediately after starting

My immediate reaction would be to cut your losses and buy a new unit as sooner or later you will run into a part that is no longer available.

My microwave shows nothing on display and will not turn on

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.

I have a whirlpool OTR microwave model MH6130XEB, and have lost all power. There is power to the microwave, but the microwave will not come on. Any ideas?

Call a service guy or if you are up to the project, remove the unit from the area and open it up.
Near where the electrical come into the machine.. there should be a circuit board that may look black because it burnt itself out.
Remove this board and replace it, Put back MW and turn it on

I want to fit a microwave on top an oven in a recess. What is the minnimum gap between the top of the oven and the bottom of the microwave?

You may need as little as 16" or over 20" depending on several things:

Local fire code if any..

Fan or venting on bottom of microwave. see Manufacturers specs.....

Check to be certain you have a dedicated circuit for this unit . While a range hood may share power most electrical codes will require a dedicated circuit for an OTR microwave as they draw more power.

OTR Amana microwave- No power, lights, clock or sounds.

Either your magnetron, cooling fan, or the magnetron thermostat is failing.

Since it's less than one year old, it would be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.
