I am going to hazard a guess, I have lots of experience with traditional turntables, but not with USB turntables. Here is some theory that may also apply to the USB turnbable. Turntables of old and new that are not USB have a GROUND wire (a single flexible conductor not connected to the plug). The ground wire is supposed to go to the chassis of the amplifier or receiver. If it is not used. There will be a 60Hz hum added to the turntable's signal. It makes the sound garbled and unpleasant. Your turntable may have such a wire. If so, ground the wire to the chassis of the computer. If it doesn't have the wire. check to see if you have all three prongs on your terminal strip(the rounded large prong is the ground). If you don't the chassis of the computer will not be grounded so you may get the hum from that source as well. If the outlet that your outlet strip is plugged into does not have a proper ground, then that could be the source.

Check to make sure that there are no breaks of your ground between the turntable and the wall outlet.
Replace the offending cables or parts until you are sure.
If there is a grounding wire coming out of the turntable, connect it to the chassis of the computer.
Here are some other points that are important
Important: All of the power in your computer and sound system should be connected to the same phase of the breaker panel in your house If it goes into the same wall outlet. that is best.
This ground issue is important in turntables.
This may not be the problem, but it certainly is very possible.
I worked in professional sound system design for recording studios and large venue (concert) sound systems.
Whenever possible, these folks require the power to be from a unified phase and source point. on Otherwise they have serious hum issues.
Have a Happy New Year,
Best, mark

Prior to pressing record, try turning the gain down. I was having distortion too but when I set the gain to -0.8 the distortion went away.

Go to settings-> phone profiles and tap on the [>>] icon next to the profile for which you want to make keypad silent (for eg:- normal). from the drop down menu at top right, select phone sounds. Scroll down till you see 'phone sound volume'. Reduce it to zero. Done!!

The TT should be connected properly for the way it's configured (Line Level Out to any Line Level In OR Phono Out to Phono In) and NOT any other way.

My left speaker is loose

The symptom you are describing is exactly what is known as a "BLOWN" speaker or the voice coil has "shorted", this is caused from the volume being up to loud, heating up the voice coil and frying it, in the future if the bass/sound is distorted then turn the volume down just enough to stop the distortion and this will save the speaker.
As far as getting a replacement speaker, you will have to contact the manufacture to get a replacement.
Good Luck !

Ion profile pro -- recording picks up background sound

If you're picking up background (room) sounds the TT pickup is acting as a microphone. Isolate it physically from air- and room-borne vibrations. Turn your speakers down so they don't add to the problem, or use headphones while recording.

On my jvc 517v when you turn the volume up the speakers are crackeling and scratchie and speakers sound terrible.

Is this a NEW problem or has it always been like this? What modes or sources are affected? Generally, crackling, scratchty sound is either overdrive distortion, speakers being pushed too hard, or blown speakers.

What is the exact model. Can't find the manual for "517v".
