Question about Epson Stylus Pro 3800 InkJet Printer

I have this Epson Pro 3800 printer, which stopped printing because it said the maintainence cartridge was defective. I bought a new cartridge and it gave me the same message. Hope you have an easy answer! Rosemary

Hi,
According to your mail I understand that you have a problem with your printer, It's not
printing and showing the cartridge problem. you have to check something like
1> Make sure that your new printer cartridge is original.
2> If your new cartridge is ok then you have to check your printer nozzle. You can clear
your printer nozzle with your printer software.
3> Clear your printer head and make sure that your printer cartridge moving properly.
4> And finally your printer software may caused for this problem. You can remove your
printer software from ctrl panel, and install it again.

All the above solutions can solve your problem.

well it can only mean one of a few things.printer head is damage or no good... not worth replacing the brain of the printer is malfunctioning unplug for 10 minutes let sit. Sorry but time for a new printer

Error 1404 sevice


This error indicates that the air pressure for an ink cartridge is not correct, which is usually caused by a defective ink cartridge. If you recently replaced an ink cartridge, try replacing it with a new one. If the error still appears, contact Epson for help.

We just bought a new epson NX115. As we put on the cartridge, the 2 reds light keep on blinking. It will not stop. When we press the stop button, nothing happens. I need to print some documents now.


Two lights blinking usually refers to the Purge Tank being Full. Being a new printer the service tool is not available yet other than to Epson service staff. Get on the Phone to Epson Support, Being under warranty they may have a fix for you.

Replacing Ink Cartridges Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones. Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability. Note: Leave the expended cartridge installed until you have obtained a replacement, or the ink remaining in the print head nozzles may dry out. 1. Turn on your printer. 2. If an ink cartridge is expended, the error and ink lights on the control panel stay on. 3. Open the document cover, then open the ink cover. Caution: Do not remove the ink cartridge guard or you may damage the printer.24 Maintaining Your Printer 4. Press the y Stop button. If a cartridge is low or expended, the print head moves that cartridge to the replacement position to indicate that it should be replaced. The P Power light starts flashing. If two or more ink cartridges are expended, the expended cartridge at the far left moves to the replacement position. The P Power light starts flashing. If no cartridges are low or expended, the print head does not move. Note: Do not hold the y Stop button for more than three seconds, or the printer may start cleaning the print head. 5. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift it up. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it. Warning: If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children.Replacing Ink Cartridges 25 6. Before you open the new cartridge package, shake it gently four or five times. Then remove the cartridge from the package. Caution: Do not touch the green chip on the front of the cartridge. This can damage the ink cartridge. 7. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the ink cartridge. Caution: Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink may leak. 8. Insert the new ink cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place. 9. Press the y Stop button. If another cartridge is low or expended, it moves to the replacement position. Repeat steps 5 through 8 to replace any other cartridges that need to be replaced. When you press the y Stop button and no other cartridges need to be replaced, the print head moves to its home position and the printer starts priming the ink. This takes about 1 1/2 minutes.26 Maintaining Your Printer When the P Power light stops flashing and the error and ink lights go out, ink charging is finished. 10. Close the ink cover, then close the document cover. Caution: Never turn off the your Epson printer while ink is charging or you'll waste ink. If the error and ink lights remain on after the print head moves into its home position, an ink cartridge may not be installed properly. Press the y Stop button again, and then press the ink cartridge down securely. Note: If you replaced a cartridge while copying a document or photo, cancel printing and make sure your original is still placed correctly on the document table. Then copy your original again. If you remove a low or expended ink cartridge, you cannot reinstall and use the cartridge.

Epson 3800 printer stops printing and shows error 131B. magenta ink stains the paper at about distance between 11-17 inches


Hi, I tried looking up your error code 131B and could not find it anywhere, but from Epson troubleshooting page for this printer there should be an error message on the display panel. I would replace that print cartridge, even if you just bought one just to make sure you dont have a bad cartridge, but do a cleaning of the nozzles first. Let me know how it went.

Just replaced Epson 3800 LK T5807 cartridge. It still says ink low...


Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Epson 3800. Service call error 1600. Help?


I had my 3800 stop with the 1600 error code, and after trying several things, I did hit on one thing that worked for me. I unplugged the printer without turning it off, let it set a minute or so, and then reconnected and turned it on. That worked for me and I am now printing again. Just turning off the printer did not work; I assume it stores the error and reloads it when turned on again. Pulling the plug did not give it a chance to store any info.

I should note that I did have to go back and find the printer, and connect it to the network however (Windows 7).

Red light on Flashing green light


I just got a new unit and it came with three defective ink cartridges - go to printer, right click, select Preferences and the window that pops up will have the cartridges illustrated with an X on the defective one. Epson replaced my defective cartridges at no charge - just the inconvenience of waiting for delivery.
