If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Ge model jvm 140 complete loss of power. all lights are out. there is power to receptale

Not an easy situation when it's mounted above the range,it will have to be taken down, remove the outer case and look for any and all fuses, it sounds like you have a blown fuse or if they all look good you may have a bad power supply or bad control board.
If it isn't the fuse I am not sure if it would be worth the investment to get it repaired, you may be better off to replace the whole unit?
Good Luck !

How to change the fuse (can't figure out how to find it) in our JVM 1860 SF 001 GE microwave? help please

There is a 125V, 20 AMP line fuse inside the microwave. Its usually mounted on a small input line filter board at the point where the power cord enters the back of the unit. You will need to UNPLUG the microwave oven and remove the exterior case to access. The case comes off in various ways depending on manufacture and model. Searspartsdirect.com has some excellent exploded view parts illstrations you can use to assist you in component location and assembly:

If the model number is correct, the fuse is listed as item 74 in this parts illustration.

If you have any questions, or need assistance troubleshooting, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: Make sure you take any resistance readings with the microwave UNPLUGGED and the component under test isolated (removed) from the circuit.

I have a GE microwave, model JVM 3670 BF03. It is an above the range unit. The unit still has power, the clock, turnstyle and fan work fine, but it no longer heats food.

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

Turntable has topped working.

Make sure the platter is correctly seated on the plastic drive. Now gently press down on the platter and see if it resists turning. If the platter turned easily, the plastic drive is spinning on the motor shaft and needs replaced. If the platter resists movement, the motor under the floor needs to be replaced. To replace either part visit the web site www.partsdirect.com If you found any of these suggestions helpfull, please rate my solution

GE microwave TURNTABLE slow-erratic and noisy JVM 1860 SD 002

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Possibly a blown fuse inside, or a defective magnatron. If you decide to open the unit, please unplug it first!
