SOURCE: Trampoline net

Hope this helps. The trampoline net will either have a sleeve for flexible poles to form a ring at the top or there will be at least four obvious "loops" to hang from the poles. Then you need to sew the net to secure it to the mat/trampoline itself with rope. A good idea to buy new rope to do this as it wears with use. I have replaced my securing rope with "tie-down" rope from the sporting good department. The soft nylon kind seems to wear better. To sew: use a good knot to secure it to the underside of the trampoline (spring/Loop) then simple go through the net at the bottom skip a few holes come back through the net and go down around the bottom of a spring hold. repeat all the way around.

How long do the springs last on a trampoline?

The lifespan of your trampoline springs depends on how often you bounce on it. But you can do the following to help them last longer:
  • Don't overload ie let too many jump at one time
  • Try and jump in the center of the trampoline
  • Avoid landing on the springs
  • Try and buy a trampoline with good quality springs to start with.

I want to buy a trampoline. How do I know which one to use?

It's hard to pick a trampoline especially if you have kids of all ages and adults that also want to use it. I watched this great YouTube video that reviews the different s, bounce and safety issues such as how far they are from the ground.

What is the difference between a circular and rectangular trampoline?

Circular trampolines are usually the best option for families as they give a good but safe bounce and can hold multiple users. You can get them in a range of s and generally they are cheaper than rectangular ones which have a higher performance bounce effect which is needed for trampoline tricks etc.

Does the shape of the trampoline really make a difference or is it simply personal preference?

The shape is not all about aesthetics. Think of stability. A round shaped trampoline is by far the most stable shape available. Round trampolines distribute the weight of jumpers more evenly resulting in less occurrences of tipping. On a circular trampoline the distance between springs are spaced evenly around the perimeter; whereas on a rectangular shaped trampoline where the spacing varies, jumpers will bounce faster and higher in the corners then in the middle of the mat. Round trampolines distribute the weight of jumpers more evenly resulting in less occurrences of tipping.

I heard that jumping on a trampoline can provide adults with some health benefits. Is there any truth to this or is it a myth?

There is truth to what you heard. As you jump, your pulse rate increases, strengthening your heart. Jumping on a trampoline also helps the lymphatic system eliminate toxins by increasing the gravitational pull as you bounce up and down. When you are briefly suspended in the air, your body "pushes out" toxins, thus lowering cell pressure permitting the entry of nutrients and oxygen.
