Windows generic drivers, don't install that kind of things.
Go to HP website, download all touchpad drivers and software, and install them.

Keyboard working fine, touchpad is not working at all. have a mouse plugged into usb port. plugs from keyboard are in correct ports.

You may have to install the driver software for your keyboard to enable the touchpad to function. Did the keyboard come with a special installation CD? If not, visit the Solidtek website to download the software there.

My mouse pad in my computer wont work when i tap it

It will depend on what touch pad (and related software) is installed on the particular computer, but you will find the tap option under the Control Panel. Open your control panel, select "Mouse" There will be a TAB in the mouse properties called "touchpad" (surprise, surprise!) where you can toggle tapping on/off.

Hope this helps. PS: if you DONT see the touchpad option - you will first need to install the drivers/software for your touchpad. Most HP touchpads are the Synaptics Touch Pads - Find the drivers here: --> Click here!

Dell touch pad stops working and starts working again in about 5 seconds. I just push my finger around the pad in circles until it starts moving again. This makes it very troublesome to play online...

its the software that is conflicting with your hardware, uninstall the new installed software, and if possible reinstall the fresh copy of OS.

My touchpad scroll not working

Problem with touchpad driver. Download and install latest driver from the manufacture's website (synaptics, alps...) if you know the driver name.

Else try the software DriverMAX

(downloadable at http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/)

Im using DriverMAX. Its a good software that can automatically detect versions of drivers in our computer and update them if you have internet connection.

Also ensure that in startup programs (RUN>MSCONFIG) the touchpad driver entry is enabled!!

I have a Toshiba Tecra M8 and the touchpad stopped working. I can still use a USB mouse, but i've tried the FN F9 key to make sure that the touchpad is enabled but it still isn't working. Are there drivers...

Check in the device manager and see if the touchpad is listed under pointing devices. If it is not there try add hardware and see if it detects the hardware. If it is there check to see if it says device is working properly. Sometimes touchpads require software to operate properly so check and see if software was uninstalled. You can also download the drivers/software from Toshiba, try removing the touchpad in the device manager and then re-booting the computer. When windows re-boots it should start installing new hardware found. Use the driver/software you downloaded from Toshiba. If none of these work your touchpad may be bad.
