Remove the ear pad on the Left ear which has the power switch on,
The remove the 4 screws, then there are two silver screws holding the outer cover in place, remove these and then tae the cover off.
You will see there are two AA Ni-Cd batteries inside these can be replaced ith any rechargable batteries you wish

This is usually caused by a short in a wire. If you are brave, you can open up the headphones and find the wire that has shorted out and repair it. Usually this happens at the point where the headphones pivot. This may require the use of a soldering gun, or at least some new wire and electrical tape. Nothing you can't find at radioshack. Let me know if you need help opening the casing up to find the bad connection!

The NC250s come in a semi-rigid black case with a dual airline-plug adapter, a mini-to-RCA phono plug adapter and a 4' detachable headphone cord. JVC includes one AAA battery, which should last approximately 50 hours. A simple sliding switch on the right side turns the noise reduction on along with a small red LED. Learning how to add the battery to the headphones required that I study JVC's user manual. The process involves having to remove the earpiece covering to get to the battery compartment, which isn't at all obvious.
