Question about LG Flatron L1919S LCD Monitor

1 Answer

LG Flatron L1919S stuck in 1024x768 resolution, when it was set in 1280x1024. NOTE : the screen is in use with a Unix workstation, not a Windows PC. When I switched the monitor off, I accidently pressed the seond from bottom button (icon below) , which apparently is supposed to do "auto resolve" of resolution, /__| \ instead of the power button (bottom button of 5) . Now the resolution is stuck. Trying to change the resolution from the menu is *NOT POSSIBLE* . Pressing the offending button multiple times, and then restarting my machine will subsequently show resolutions in the menu display of 800x600, 720x400 etc. But the machine just reverts to 1028x764 regardless. The button presses are evidently moving something down the resolution settings list. If I knew the settings list, then I can experiment with button presses from the 1028x764 setting to see where I get to with N consecutive button presses. Any other opinions on how to restore the resolution to 1280x1024 ??

That auto configure button is for the monitor to adjust it self to correctly display the correct resolution as FED BY THE VIDEO card, the resolution on the monitor is CONTROLLED BY THE computer, not by the monitor.
If the resolution setting on the computer is not showing the 1280 x1024, then either the driver for the video card is corrupted or need to be reloaded.
Native resolution of this monitor is 1280 x1024 @60Hz.

Dell 780

This is not a GPO issue. The problem is that all Windows will attempt to set the new resolution and a fail-safe is that if you do not click the Keep Changes button after thirty seconds it switches back to the old settings. This ensures that if you set the resolution to a range the monitor or display adapter can't handle that you don't get 'stuck' with a blank screen.
Check that the display adapter in the Dell 780 can handle a resolution of 1280x1024 and that the monitor can also handle this resolution.

Hi, i own compaq presario CQ42 369TU laptop, how do i increase my screen resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 or higher ?

For Windows XP...

1.
Open Display in Control Panel.
2.
On the Settings tab, under Screen resolution, drag the slider, and then click Apply.
3.
When prompted to apply the settings, click OK. Your screen will turn black for a moment.
4.
Once your screen resolution changes, you have 15 seconds to confirm the change. Click Yes to confirm the change; click No or do nothing to revert to your previous setting.

If you cannot set it any higher than 1024x768 and you have already installed the video drivers, that is as high as it can go for your hardware.

It means your PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to display, you need to set your PC video to the native resolution of this monitor, 1280 x 1024 @60Hz.
Start up in sfae mode (hit f8 while booting up), select VGA support, then right click on desk top/properties to bring up display property/setting. set the new resolution , reboot.

It means your PC video output resolution is too high for the LG monitor to display (your old monitor (CRT) can handle higher resolution than this LG LCD monitor), you need to set the PC video resolution to native resolutionof this monitor which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. You may have to use the old monitor (CRT) to set the resolution to 1280 x 1024@60Hz, then hook up the LCD monitor.

Error message on new monitor

Hello,

I don't know for sure because I don't own nor have I ever used one of these monitors before but this error likely means that either that there is a problem with the resolution or the frequency coming from the video card on your computer. The recommended resolution is 1280x1024@60Hz.

You can hook your PC up to your old monitor and check the Display Settings. According to the manual for the LG1780U (and many others) 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024 should all be acceptable values, although 1280X1024 will give you she sharpest image for this monitor.

If you still need help LG offers 24/7 tech support @ 1-800-243-0000.

I hope this helps!

Cant get 1280x1024 when connected to laptop

the only way you may get it to work is if you use the monitor a secondary device and also use the notebook monitor as well. But the problem may also be the vga connector converting the signal, as you may have to have a DVI connection on your monitor to obtain widescreen resolutions.
