This is a difficult question because you have not provided a make or model of the camera. Because of this I'm going to assume a few things If you have just installed a memory card you will need to format the card to the camera your camera may call it initialize. Also make sure your power supply (batteries) are have clean contacts (no oily finger marks) and that they are at full charged. One other thing and I'm guessing here if the camera uses and SD type card make sure the card is in the unlock position I'll give you a diagram so you can see where this slider switch needs to be.

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Hi,

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN or Access is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.

Sounds like you did two things wrong...you deleted/erased/or formatted the camera using the computer. You disconnected the camera without using the "safely remove hardware" function.

When my camera is turned on, "write protect" comes on the screen, so I cannot take pictures. How do I get rid of "write Protect?"

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm going to assume it uses SD and/or SDHC cards.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
