Try hard reset, check the manual how to set things back to factory settings. Ensure all cables are connected properly, all + on + and all - on - (don't forget to check the speakerterminals!). Some equipment do into auto-protect mode when a + and - are incorrectly connected.

Yamaha R-S700 has no audio all channels, it will power on but no audio on any channel.

Have you checked all your speaker connections? And your Speaker selection a-b? If yes then Does your volume indicator show the volume increase when turning the volume up? If so, then try a different speaker . To check your speakers you can take a 9v alkaline battery and momentarily touch the leads to each speaker after disconnecting them from the stereo(black is ground and the striped wire is positive) You should hear a thump from the speaker.
Or just check them with another stereo or sound source. If the speakers are ok then you have a problem with the amplifier section of the receiver. There are no fuses internally in the Yamaha RS-700

Is the volume knob made of plastic or metal?

I checked my Yamaha receiver and the knob is plastic. A cheap plastic knob can be vacuum plated to resemble the metal knobs that were used many, many years ago.

Yamaha yas-101 uverse codes

I had the same problem with my U-verse s10-10 remote and a yamaha SR 300 soundbar. Here is how I got my volume control (but NOT power control) on the yamaha working:

First - always send volume control to the AUX button:
Press and hold AT&T key and OK for 1 second, release, look for 2 flashes.
Now press AUX button. The AUX button will show a long flash.

Second - Go through the manual programing steps listed in the guide for the AUX button (hold AUX and OK for 1 second, release; 2 flashes, punch in code). But instead of pressing the Power button to try to turn off your yamaha soundbar, press the volume up / down and Mute button. I think the code that worked for me was 4045 but I honestly don't remember.

The key is that you have to send the volume control to the AUX button first or it's all a wash.

sounds like you need to take it in to have it looked at. no simple fix unless you are an appliance technician. hard to walk a beginner through. i suggest calling an stereo repair guy.

Yamaha RX-V793 flashing light on volume control and no volume

Per Yamaha support page: The volume light on my Yamaha AV receiver is flashing, what does this mean ? The "MUTE" function on your remote control has been activated. The reason that you can still hear a very low sound is that the muting circuit within your stereo is not a full mute, but rather a -20dB mute. To deactivate the "MUTE" function, simply press the "MUTE" button on your remote control. (Make sure the volume control is turned down to avoid damage to your system.) If you misplace or lose your remote control, you will have to purchase a new remote control unit, as there is no duplicate function on the front panel of your stereo. Unplugging the stereo will not deactivate the muting circuit, as the microprocessor "remembers" if the muting circuit was active prior to being turned off or unplugged. If you need to purchase a remote control, you may order one directly from our parts office. You may reach them by dialing (714) 522-9888 from 8 am to 3 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. If you have any other questions, please contact our customer service department by dialing (800) 292-2982 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
