Are you playing back the videos from the hard drive after downloading or from the flash card? If you're transferring the videos using a card reader to the PC's hard drive, and playing it from there,
the PC may just not be fast enough to decode the video without dropping frames. You might try a different program as the player because some tend to be more forgiving of system requirements.

Okay... so I found the manual for the cam and I followed the instrustions to download software from the support page. I didn't get a flash card with the camera so I used an old one I found in my house which is a regular 4.0 GB easy store memory card. When I first tried to save my photos and videos on my computer, I just took the memory card out of the camera and put it into my computer. I could view the pictures but the videos were choppy. And by choppy I mean the video quality was extremely slow but the sound was very clear. I later tried a different memory card 1.0 GB DYNEX and same problem. I downloaded the software that was recommended on the manual and left the memory card in my camera and connected through usb cord that came with the camera. I uploaded my photos onto my adobe photoshop and picasa program. The videos are still choppy. I dont understand what you mean by tranferring videos using a card reader to the pcs hard drive. Please be more clear because I'm not an expert like you. Thank you

When you take the memory card out of the camera and put it into your computer, you can copy the video files over to your PC hard drive, which is faster than the memory card.
When you view it directly from the memory card, it'll be slower, so it may be causing the choppy playback.
If you open up windows explorer or some other program that allows you to copy the files over to your hard drive, do that first and then try playing it from the copied files instead of the memory card.
If it's still choppy, it just might because the computer is not fast enough- you might try playing the files on a friend's computer if they have a newer one to see.

Well i have a Sanyo J1 Xacti Digital camera and i lost the CD with the software to download the pictures from camera to Computer. Is there any site where i can get download it? Thanks

Try Sanyo.com - look for support button.

Most newer computers with newer operating systems will detect a camera/camcorder when connected to USB. Have you tried it without the disk?

I have an older Xacti that records to SD card. You can use a flash card reader to transfer files without Sanyo software.

Lost software disc which allow to download movies and photos'

The software disk contains third party programs of which Sanyo gave you license to use. You can download separate programs but you will also need to purchase their license. For the connectivity if you are using windows XP then just plug-in your camera into the USB port and it will automatically install so you can copy your photos and videos. The CD has the following software:

QuickTime 6.5

Ulead Photo Explorer 8.5 SE Basic (Windows)/Photo Explorer for Mac 2.0
(Macintosh)

Motion Director SE 1.1 (Windows)

Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 SE (Windows)

Dvd software for my Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9

You can write a data dvd that will play on any DIVX or XVID dvd player that supports this format:

" ISOstandard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AAC audio)."

Some Blue-Ray players play this format, like Sony's PS3. The PS3 will play these videos from a thumbdrive.

Some Sanyo camcorders ship with a disk containing commercial software to convert your .MP4 videos to standard dvd video, such as Ulead MovieFactory. If you have lost your disk, Sanyo will not allow you to download it from the website. I cannot recommend where to download commercial software, such as MovieFactory or Nero Vision.
