Question about Panasonic SB-WA100 Subwoofer

1 Answer

I don't have a problem per se, but I'm wondering if I can lower the Base output. I can lower it if I turn the sound down, but if I turn the sound up the base is way too ear-shattering and there doesn't seem to be any adjustment knobs. Thanks for your help. Randy

Pin hole leak in rear differential fluid

I really don't think you can dent the "Pumpkin" per se, since it's made of Cast Steel and that would mean its probably a crack... Do you mean the pumpkin 'cover' is dented and has a pin hole? Either way, if there is a crack/pin hole in the Diff, I'd be extremely careful.. And make sure the damage is minor since your dealing with something that can explode on you going down the road - causing the rear wheel's to lock up..!

I have a 2001 flhtcui what are the ac reading coming from stator at 2.5k rpm 3k rpm and 3600 rpm. At 2000 rpm I get about 12 volts dash guage reading but at 3000 I get 13.5 to 14 at lower rpm 2000 or so I...

The AC output of the stator should be 32-40 volts at 2000 RPM (16-20 per 1000 RPM). With the battery fully charged, your regulator should supply between 13.5 and 15.0 DC volts to the battery. This should be the reading you get on your voltmeter. It will vary depending on what lights and other equipment you have turned on. Sounds like everything is working fine to me. The gauge is reading the DC voltage at the battery while the engine is running. At 2000 RPM, 12 volts is a little low but, considering the accuracy of the gauge, as long as it doesn't fall below 12 volts, it's about right. You don't ride for extended periods at engine RPMs that low. Then at 3000 RPM, 14 volts is about right. If your bike never ran anymore than 12 volts, your battery would slowly go down. If it goes any higher than 15.0 volts, it will boil the battery. Usually, about 14.3 or so with no load on the system is about right.

Good Luck

Creek SE 5350 one channel without sound

I think you will find that the fault is either a dry joint somewhere (have you moved it recently?) OR more likely a transistor. It might be caused by one getting very hot! Thus shutting down and coming back on when cool.
The best way to track this troublemaker down is to spary each transistor (in the left channel only don't bother with the other or Power section) with Servisol Freezer spray. Wait for the thing to play up then spray -one at a time- if it pops on you have got the bugger! To make certain apply a soldering to it and it should act up again. Spray again to confirm.

Spring loaded ball bearings - does the ball bearing sit on top of the spring or below the spring??

The ball bearing is a check valve. The ball should be in the input side of the water with the spring underneath.
input side ----->( O/////)-------> output side

Phono plays lower in volume than cd and tuner. Sounds ok i guess but is about a quarter to one third lower in volume. Is this normal ? Can I plug phono into cd jacks to check if any better ?

Hello. As per the post before me, if you have a receiver with a Phono input(many receivers don't have one anymore) the output of a phono cartridge is around 30 millivolts, vs 300 millivolts for a CD(10 times the amount) or any other line level device. A Phono preamp, also has RIAA(recording engineering standards)Equalization that provides the proper equalization for a Phono cartridge. As per the other post, yes, it will sound very low, and unnatural sounding. If the input you are plugging the turntable input into, doesn't say Phono, you can purchase an inexpensive Phono preamp made just for this very issue. You can try Radio Shack, or find something of better quality on the Internet.

Dave

Amp turns on, no sound comes out, replaced output transistors

i would be looking into the input stage of the amp. seeing that amp has a protection circuit if it saw a issue with the output's it would put the amp into protect mode and not let the power supply turn on. so the issue is most likely in the input side of the board . from the symptoms it sounds that way also.
