Question about Kenmore Ovens

I was trying to use the broil function (my appliance is fairly new) and my food burnt - smoke, etc, then my oven beeped and now I have an error code F 10 flashing. The stop/clear button won't get rid of it - please advise.

What is the model number to your machine?
if it is the one i think it is
The "F10" error code caused by the runaway temperature.

The first thing I would check is the resistance across the oven temperature probe (aka oven temperature sensor) terminals at the EOC (electronic oven control) plug.

It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.

If the resistance at the EOC plug is wrong, then measure the oven temperature probe resistance at the probe plug.

If it's wrong - replace the oven temperature probe. It's better to hardwire it, using a high temperature ceramic wire nuts.

If the readings at the EOC and at the oven temperature probe plug are different - check the wire harness between the oven temperature probe and the EOC.

If there is nothing wrong with the oven temperature probe resistance - replace the EOC.

- The part number for the oven temperature probe is AP3704441

- The part number for the EOC is AP3776874

- The part number for the EOC overlay is AP3778486

if you have any further questions please message me back and please remember when our chat is concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation hopefully with 4 thumbs up Thanks again Rick

Hi

F10 error means bad electronic control/clock assembly; usually the error is displayed when a relay or any other component on the board goes bad/burnt. The only way to solve this is replacing the board. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Bosch oven error code F43; breaker reset doesn't work. Door ok (though it locked while using broiler). Beeps continuously. Worth fixing? OK to use gas burners without power? Smells very gassy.

Don't use any appliance that smells of gas or partially burnt gas. Time for a new one or a professional Bosch service engineer. Your call?

Here is the Error Code

F43Upper (or single) oven motorized latch will not lock; defective or jammed upper (or single) oven door or latch switches; defective latch motor or its wiring.
  1. Check P24 connector on the power board.
  2. Ensure door latch switches are operating properly.
  3. Check that neither latch switch nor common wires are pinched to the appliance chassis.
  4. Check P10 connector and check if latch motor wire is pinched to the appliance chassis.
  5. If F43 persists, replace power board.

GE Wall Oven - No heat (broil or bake)

On appliances like this only the heating elements use 220 volts. things like the clock, fan, etc use 110 volts. That is why some things work and other do not. Start at the breaker, sometimes a double pole breaker will have 1 side tripped, but will look perfectly fine. switch the breaker all the way to off then re-set. If nothing changes follow the power to the appliance remove the panel and look for some fuses, check to see if any are blown. Also sometimes the microwave will have a separate power source even though its built in to the same appliance. So that's not always a good symptom to follow.

Broil element won't come on.

1. Cut power to the stove by unplugging or switching off at the mains.
2. Remove broil element and inspect for burnt or melted places, if you have multimeter, then check it for continuity, it shouldn't have more than about10 ohms resistance. Burnt-out element is easily replaced.
3. If element is good, then check for voltage at element terminals, it should be 220 volt AC ( with caution, after turning power back on and setting oven to broil).
4. If all above checks out, then the problem will require disassembling the appliance to investigate thermostat issues, relay, etc. It would be at this point that I would strongly consider putting in a service call!

Hi, the F2 error code means that the oven is overheating for an unknown reason. F3 and F4 indicate a problem with the oven sensor, which usually requires replacing the sensor.

Smoke come up from bottom of 3-month new smeg oven SA702X when try to heat up

Hi.

Smoke coming from the oven is not normal. Ensure that the smoke is not vapour coming from the food inside the oven.

If there is vapour coming from the hinge area, then ensure that door and hinges are installed properly.

If you get smoke from the oven, try cleaning the oven cavity, follow the instructions on manual to clean the oven.

If after cleaning the oven, there is still smoke coming from the bottom side, then call Smeg and have the oven replaced. There is one or two years warranty on the appliance.
Smeg support and service phone number is listed in the oven manual.

Regards.

Something else you can check while it's preheating: a few drops of cooking oil on the bottom of the oven will tell you if your lower element ("bake") is functioning at all. If it's working, you will get smoke during pre-heat (turn it off!!), if it's not - the problem *can be* in the relay board. Does your "Broil" function work ok.? if it does, then chances are your ERC (electronic range control - the main board that controls all functions) is fine, and the problem is now MOST likely in the relay board. The lower "Bake" element does most of the work in the oven - if the oil trick doesn't give you some smoke, let a tech know that the lower element is not functioning. That will help narrow down the troubleshooting scope.!

Kenmore electric range - oven temp low and takes forever to heat

if lower element tests open with continuity meter then it for sure is bad. i would also check the wire ends that connect to the element and/or the control board, they could have loosened allowing a bad connection and low voltage to elementor burnt off.. most ovens do not use the broil element at all during the bake cycle, only during the broil cycle.. some however do utilize the broil element during baking, but at a lower wattage or something..
best of luck,
ttfn

What does the F1 alert mean?

Hello jiverson,
Welcome,

You said, your get a recurring F1 beep even after I press "cancel" I worked with the oven for about 2 hours trying various combos of opening the oven, pressing cancel and trying to perform various functions (light, clean, bake, broil, etc.) to no avail. I got it to stop for about an hour at one point, but it started right back up again. It also seems that every now and then the oven light will come on all by itself during one fo these alerts

Please send me your complete model number including the single diget at the end of the model number.
For example: FGB24S5AW1
Then I can be sure!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting your response. I'll check for it through out the day!
And get back to you as fats as possible so you can take care of it Monday!

Huuum

In some ovens It could be failure of your, EOC (Electronic Oven Control) failure

F2 error code

Similar problem. When baking over 400 degrees we get the F2 code that can only be reset by cycling the power at the breaker. Replaced the electonics to no avail. I'm thinking its the cooling fan located between the oven and microwave (upper unit) it never comes on which may cause a separate temp switch to generate the F2... but I'm not a pro. :)
