On your television?
xbox360 comes standard with a scart cable so its not on a channel as such, try changing the source using the remote control for the television, it should come up with an AV or EXT channel. if still no luck ensure that the scart is correctly inserted into the slot (it sounds stupid but they fall out very easily and can cause loos of picture or sound or both)

Hello My xbox 360 sound is not working any more. can this be repaired easily

I doubt this is a console problem, if you go to your my xbox page, scroll over to the right to the system settings page, click console settings, click audio, here you can alter the settings for your audio.
It could also be a problem with your tv channel, could you try a different channel for your games.
Remember thumbs up if this works.

Why wont my xbox play in color

Sounds like you are using the Component cables but are not on the correct component channel. Keep searching through your input channels to find the right one. Some older TV's that intergrated component inputs merged them with the normal input channels. I had this same problem with a JVC TV.
