Lost most all suction; pinpointed to cyclone mechanism (as input suction is perfect), but cannot figure out how to disassemble. Removed 3 torx screws from top and inner unit. Thanks!

Hi there Creddiscks,
There isn't much more to it once you have those screws out. The rest of the chamber is not designed to be pulled apart unfortunately. I have made a video titled

How do I clean the radix assembly of my DC07 Dyson?. (video)

On the Dyson DC07, can the cyclone canister be COMPLETELY disassembled?

Hi Jeff, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC07's cyclone pack isn't designed to be dismantled. To ensure optimum performance, some parts are bonded together to create an airtight seal. It wouldn't be possible to disassemble this section of the cyclone pack without damaging the machine. We also advise against removing the cyclone top as it can be difficult to do this without causing damage to the internal bin release rod.

Broken trigger on dc31

I had the same problem where the trigger doesn't always work (it works if I turn the unit upside down). I've since worked out it's the battery contacts which just needs a bit of a clean. It works now no matter which way I'm holding it.

I have a Dyson DC07 and it has lost suction. I have checked the belt, cleaned the circular filter and emptied the dirt chamber. The hose still has plenty of suction but I can't use the hose the vacuum...

Here are some things you can check.First you need to see if the problem is with the suction or agitation. If the suction on the hose for using the attachments is low you either need new filters a new cyclone(they are not cleanable) or it is clogged. To check for a clogg remove the cyclone and turn on the vacuum cleaner.you can put your hand over the suction side of the handle tub and feel if it has suction there.Reinstall the cyclone and again check the hose.If it is the same you don't likley have a suction problem you have an agitation problem. The 2 belts on the DC07 are part of the clutch and when they are strectched to a certain point (3-5years) the clutch needs to be replaced.you can check the clutch by turning on the vacuum cleaner and applying slight pressure downward on the front of the vacuum head.If the vacuum makes a loud ratcheting noise or you can stop the brush from turning the problem is most likely the clutch. One last thing is to make sure the bottom plate is on correctly I often see a misaligned bottom plate and the brush dosen't hit the carpet so it dosen't pick up.  www.sewvac.com

Hi loss of suction on Dyson DC07 and I have changed the belt on the brushbar and cleaned all filters/removeable parts but still suction not very good, any other suggestions?

Check for a clog where the power nozzle connects to the hose. Clogs or leaks in the hose will both cause loss of suction/air flow. Another possibility is broken or worn out fan blades.

There is no suction on my vaccum, hoses appear not to be blocked

have you checked your permanent filter. is that plugged? Have you taken the small solid plastic passage off the side of the machine and checked for a plug there?
Did you by chance rinse your cyclone with water at some point? You can disassemble the cyclone and clean that. google has some videos on cleaning your cyclone. just google clean dc07 cyclone and you'll get several

Upright positon dyson won't work

Have you checked your permanent filter? Have you checked the hoses for clogs. As a last resort you can disassemble the cyclone and clean it. If the vac is less than 5 years old, Dyson will probably send you a new Cyclone to replace yours.
Also check that you have the gasket inside the center of the bottom of the clear canister on the right way. If it is backwards your suction will be much less

Not sucking at full potential

you have a clogged hose. The clog must be removed for you to get suction. you might be able to blow the clog out but you will probably have to do some disassembly to remove the clog.

Our dyson has lost it's suction

Most likely blockage in the foot. Check for hair etc wrapped on the brush and clogging suction port. Twist 3 plastic 'screws' ati clockwise 1/2 a turn and remove base to access the brushes.

i managed to take the cyclone apart. here is some help with what i did I hope this helps. You will need a philips and torx screw drivers. Especially torx with T - handles and thin shaft makes the task much faster and easier.
1. first undo the screws holding the top handle.
2. lift that part of the handle and pull towards the other end of the handle at the same time. Care this is a tricky manoeuvre but the other end is just sloted in. sometimes may be glued so some force may be needed. see photo 1
59cbdbc.jpg
3 Once the handle is off. there will be screw under the end that you pulled off. undo that screw. see photo 57bd18a.jpg

4. Now turn the cyclone upside down. Pull the cone off. this is only a push fit and should pull off

5. Now you should be able to see the three torx screws holes as indicated in the photo.38c6322.jpg

6 The removal of these torx will enable this section to be pulled off exposing one more layer with three further torx screws to be removed as indicated in the next photo7a60cdc.jpg
7 Once the final torx screws are removed, turn the cyclone upright and the top bit which held the handle should come off exposing the complex combe structure. see photo 92fa764.jpg
8 Then you should be able to lift the combe structure as well see photo 349cdfc.jpg

9. and final photo of all the part that have come apart d6aa9d9.jpg

10. Thoroughly was all the parts with water and make ABSOLUTLY sure that the part are dry before putting it altogather again. Your vacuum will be as good as new. mine was. good luck and happy cleaning.
