Question about Cars & Co SCX Seat Leon WTCC livery Diecast Model

1 Answer

Hi, I had a brake light problem which I have managed to fix now. However in doing so I pulled out all the fuses to check continuity and now the car wont start. Everything works, the car opens, electrics come on and no alarm sounds. But the engine won't start even though the starter motor is really going for it. I did pull out all the fuses so might have reset something? Also have no factory cd player anymore to input any codes should it need it.... It is a 2002 seat Leon cupra

Before checking for continuity with a meter that uses a 9 volt battery to measure resistence, was the battery disconnected before measuring? I'm thinking no at this point. Measuring resistence with a circuit that is still powered with battery voltage is not something that should be performed. Are you getting power to the starter relay now?

Where is the brake light fuse on the Yamaha v star 1300

Hi, Pat before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, witch is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. Honda civic pro 94 upper stop light isnt working while lights on

When you checked the fuses, did you check them for continuity or did you check them by eye to see if they were blown? Use a continuity tester that's equipped with a tone alert; this way you don't have to pull the fuses out of the panel- just take the probes and test them while they're in place and listen for a tone. No tone, bad fuse- replace it.

Check the brake pedal's relay too. If everything checks okay, replace the bulb.

Brake lights dont work, changed the fuse its was ok, changed the switch on the pedal , still not lights. flashers work, turn signal work, but not the brake lights. where to look next

Hi, your van does not use the signal filaments for the brake lights. You must have a wiring issue. Check for power at the brake light switch. If you have power there, the wire is broke from the switch to the S304 junction. If there is no power to the switch, the wire is broken between the fuse box and the switch. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

SOUND LIKE TRANSMISSION BRAKE INTERLOCK SOLENOID IS NOT ENERGIZING.MAKE SURE BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON WHEN YOU APPLY BRAKE PEDAL.SEE IF BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH MALFUNCTION OR BRAKE LIGHT FUSE BLOWN. THE TRANSMISSION BRAKE INTERLOCK SOLENOID WONT ENERGIZE, WHICH WILL KEEP YOU FROM GETTING CAR OUT OF PARK.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 12.6 VOLTS AT BATTERY.DEAD BATTERY YOU WONT BE ABLE TO GET CAR OUT OF PARK.CHECK TRANSMISSION BRAKE INTERLOCK SOLENOID FUSE AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE BRAKE LIGHT FUSE IS GOOD AND BRAKE LIGHT FUSE NOT BLOWED.

Changing the brake pad has nothing to do with the brake light unless you touched the switch thats under your brake pedal. Or you might have a burnt light bulbs. Good luck

This sounds to be a Body control module. The first thing to do is pull all of the fuses one at a time check to see that they are good and reinsert them. what this is doing, besides making sure the fuse is good, is making sure every fuse has a good contact. Check the relays also. I have fixed many electrical problems by just pulling the fuse and reinsert it. same with the electrical plugs. When pulling plugs always check both ends for corrosion.

BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHTS DON'T WORK. HAVE REPLACED BRAKE SWITCH AND LIGHT SWITCH. NO CHANGE. LIGHTS ARE GOOD, CAN HOT WIRE AND RUNNING LIGHTS WORK. ALSO WHEN HOT WIRED DASH LIGHTS COME ON

Hi.

Test with a voltmeter the contacts to the fuses for tail lights and brake lights. If there is no power getting to fuses from instrument panel, and switches had already been replaced, then it is a wiring problem from switch to fuse box, otherwise from fuse box to lights. the defective wiring must be repaired or rebuilt.
Regards.

My brake lights will not go off unless I pull fuse #4 (Stop 10 A). The fuse that I pulled out looks like it is still good. I replaced it with a known good fuse but the lights stay on. What am I missing?

sounds like the brake light switch is bad. Look at the top of the break pedal arm and there should be a switch that is activited by the travel of the pedal.

If you have a mutlimeter handy, check it for continuity.....the circuit is open at rest and closes when you push on the pedal.

Brake Lights are not working.

check the switch itself,on the pedal, most likly if you drive this model car too long with a bad brake switch,it WILL damage the transmission!!
