How do I download the installation cd when there isn't anywhere to put cd? I see the usb port on the netbook but the netbook itself didn't come with one that can connect to our computer. My girls each recieved one for Christmas and so far haven't been able to use it because the netbook doesn't like our secure wi-fi. I have had no problems what so ever with my Sony laptop that I bought for Christmas so I know it isn't our end it is this netbook. If we can't get this fixed soon then we will be returning both and getting them each something better. jlt2art2@embarqmail.com

If you have another laptop that has a CD drive as you have stated, insert the CD into your laptop that has a CD drive, copy all the files that are inside the CD into a USB drive. Put the USB drive that contains the copied files into the laptop that does not have a CD drive and open the copied files and you will see the files you want to install. Click on it and install.

Netbooks don't have built-in cd/dvd drives. The only way you can install software on them is to download the software online or get an external cd/dvd drive that you can connect to the netbook's usb port.

I dont have bluetooh....i want to install, but how???

You have to buy a bluetooth adapter. It is a USB device that usually looks like a thumb drive. Most of them are plug and play. All you have to do is connect it via the USB and viola! you have bluetooth capability on your Netbook. If in case it isn't plug and play, you just need to install the driver that comes with it. The problem is you Netbook does not have a CD drive. You have to download the driver via the support site of the manufacturer of the Bluetooth adapter. You just need to make sure that the one you are trying to download is compatible with your operating system.

Hi.

Yes it is possible to fix the netbook. All you need to do is reinstall the operating system. You will have to get hold of an external DVD/CD drive or install Windows through a USB drive.

With a DVD/CD drive all you need is the XP installation CD. Connect the drive to the power outlet and then plug the USB lead to the computer. turn the netbook on and hit the F12 key or the key it tells you for "Boot Options". Select the "USB CD-ROM" device and follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the operating system.
If you haven't got an XP installation CD then you'll have to purchase one.

You can also install XP from a USB flash drive. Click on the link I have provided below for an in-depth explanation for how to install Windows XP from a USB flash drive>>>

http://komku.blogspot.com/2008/11/install-windows-xp-using-usb-flash-disk.html

If you decide to install using the USB flash drive then to get the system to boot from the USB flash drive just follow the same instructions for the DVD/CD drive.

Hope this helps and please post back if there is anything else.

Regards.

If your laptop is still under warranty, you may have to take it back to where you purchased it (Best Buy?) for a replacement. It may be a hardware related issue, which isn't easily solvable for a netbook.
I'm guessing that there isn't a CD/DVD drive.
Another thing to try is inserting a bootable USB thumb drive of an operating system (windows 7?) and booting it from there. It should start up the normal install procedure. If it doesn't, then the laptop most likely has a hardware issue.
If you have access to another working computer, thumb drive, and install CD (windows 7?), a bootable USB thumbdrive can be created to try reinstalling the operating system. However, it seems that your laptop may have an internal motherboard issue (very bad).

There is a large chance your laptop/netbook does not provide adequate power to properly power the unit, this is the case in 80% of netbooks/laptops and portable PC's. The only way through this is to purchase a USB WALL POWER CABLE or USB AC Adapter, then can be purchased anywhere from $2.00 to the higher end ones for $19.99 with all the bell's, whistles and additional outlets, you can find them on AMAZON.COM or BUY.COM or anywhere.

Hope that helps, you will see the use and this is the future of power units, USB is the future of power, and USB requires no voltage and less conductivity to produce power. Safe, low required power for the world!!! LOL!! It is how it is people!

The netbooks require an external CD drive which must be pruchased seperately. If you have access to a computer with a CD drive you can copy the files from the CD to a USB drive and then install via the USB port on the netbook. Secondly, you can go to http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=Wireless+Mouse+Netbook
and find your model to download the drivers via the internet. These are a lot of different drivers, so if you can get the model number off of the mouse itself or the transmitter you can do a search via model number to get more precise results.

How do i get my webcam to work im trying to download in in my computer is that how it works

If it's external, make sure its USB connector is connected into a USB port on the computer. If you're using a USB port on the MONITOR, then the monitor needs to be connected by USB to the computer itself. If you have its original CD, put that in when prompted (assuming you have a CD drive). If not, just download your camera's drive from the Internet and (after it's downloaded) run its installation process (usually a file named setup.exe or something similiar).

I have a netbook computer which comes without a cd drive and I want to install my printer

There are two methods to install the printer driver.
1. Purchase or borrow an USB external CD/DVD drive connect it to the mini laptop's USB port and install the software from this drive.
2. Use a different computer and copy the contents of the CD to an USB memory stick and then plug it into the mini laptop's USB port and install the software from this USB memory stick.

My sansa mp3 player isn`t recognized by the computer

It may depend on your operating system, but there are known issues in vista. There is also a hotfix from microsoft. This is from the Sansa Website FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs

My Sansa player is not recognized by my computer when I connect it.

The most common reason for this problem is not having the latest Windows Media Player installed, or having a Windows OS version that is not supported by the Sansa player.

The Sansa players support Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista and above. If your operating system version is supported by the Sansa player:

SOLUTION 1 – Download and install the latest Windows Media Player

SOLUTION 2 – If that didn’t help, and you are running Windows Vista, apply the following hotfix - KB940199

SOLUTION 3 – If that didn’t help, download and Install the MTP Porting Kit (click here)

SOLUTION 4 – If that didn’t help, try connecting the device to the PC using MSC mode

On the Clip: Go to Settings > USB mode & choose MSC

I hope this helps and please don't forget to rate my answer.

I don't know how to install it

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
