Windows 7 will not recognize my COBY 705 4-G.

For every thing you want to connect to an USB connector, you FIRST have to install the software. Most of the time the software comes on a disk in the package or there is a link on paper, you have to use to get the software.
In the software is a driver, so the device is recognised by the computer (drivers for different computers must be included) and then there is software so you can manage the device from your computer.
Please read the manual before you start installing. And check what computer is needed.

CD/DVD player is no good (does it play other discs and are they DVD or CD that it plays, could be a dirty laser use cleaning disc), the disc is not compatible with your player (DVD disc in CD player), corrupt disc, no auto-run on disc, no files on disc. The list is quite long. have you tried to read the disc in my computer screen (presuming your using windows) as the files might be in a compressed format (.zip or .rar) in which case you might have to unpack them. If the disc is not recognised at all try it on a different machine (a friends) and see if it will read on that if it does then copy the files to a new disc and try again. other than that you can always go the the makers web site and download any drivers from there support area's. Any further help required let me know.

Please install the driver your device in computer. Then use media player in computer to play your MP3 files. You will encounter bad communication between computer and your player if you don't installed correct driver in computer.

I hv no usb driver

USB do not need a driver, it is plug and play. You would have a recieved a software CD along with the Player which you need to install on the computer and it would recognise the player.

No music file showying on MP-BT1

Just check they are not located inside a folder on your MP-BT1. If so, drag files out of their folders and then delete the folders and MP-BT1 will then recognise them!

Before opening it in Windows Media Player, turn on the device, go to SETTINGS, make sure USB mode is set to MTP, that is the mode it needs so Windows Media Player can recognize it.

How do you charge the COBY MP C582?

Hello msvivi,

There are several reasons why this could happen. Let's start with the premise that your mp3 is operational (not defective internally in any way). Here are some reasons:

a) Your mp3 player charges while connected to the USB port, but, there is a catch. It has to be self powered; in other words, it has to be the USB port directly attached to the computer not through a hub.

b) As stated in the manual, it may take in some cases a few minutes for your computer to recognize the hardware connected through the USB port, so, plug it in and be patient.

c) If your computer runs windows 98, you need to download and install a driver that will allow your system to recognize the mp3. If that is the OS in your computer, click on this link to take you to Coby's support site and download the driver.

Hope this helps. Let me know.

MPMan MP-F40 Manager Bug

I'm guessing the full error is "System Error &H8007007E (-214024770). The specified module could not be found." Its missing some file. I suggest you try installing it again it wasn't update in a while, but you can try. could be that its not compatible with sp1, or at least part of it. can you live without it? ;]
