Question about Rockford Fosgate P3001 Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

I had Rockford Fosgate P300-1 Amplifier installed professionally with a Kicker CVR10 10 in Subwoofer in 2010 Comaro. My problem is that it causes an odor in my car. I took it back to Mothers window tint and stereos where it was installed they just told me to turn it down some. I have done that but odor continues. Is Amp to much for subwoofer

Your kicker cvr subwoofer should have a max power of 1600 watts therefore your amp is not too much for the sub because the p300-1 amplifier has a max output of 900 watts. if anything your amp would not be enough to produce max power out of your subwoofer. your sub should not produce an odor unless you have your amplifier bridged which doubles the watts pushed to your subwoofer and if that is the case your amp is pushing 1800 watts to a 1600 watt sub which could be causing it to fry or possibly blow soon. other than that if thats not the case there shouldnt be a problem.

How do I Wire my 12" kicker cvs to a sony xplod 800-watt amp for best possible sound.

I would first need to know what the impedance level is for that sup. You may be able to hook this in mono or in stereo. But you definitely do not want to connect it up to the amplifier where as to cause damage.

Disconnect your subwoofer wiring from the Amplifier, and use a multi-meter to check for resistance, or an open line. The subwoofer should have resistance. If not, check the wiring inside your box. If the wiring checks out, replace the subwoofer. Also, check your RCA connection from the Head unit to the Amp.

I have a rockford fosgate punch P325.1 subwoofer mono amp that blows a fuse every time i start the car. I have a second pioneer amp but that works with no problems. How can i fix this?

Is it the correct size fuse ? Is it the power fuse or remote ? Either way check your connections going into the amp . Try this hook your other amp to the set of wires for the rockford if that amp has a problem its a wireing problem if not chances are its an interal problem on the rockford . Hope this helps !

When I am listening to my stereo in my truck with a pioneer headunit and a rockford fosgate p1 10" subwoofer. I listen to music and part of the song will hit hard then it will weaken dramatically. What is...

Your amplifier is going into protect mode.
It may already be damaged from repeated abuse.
The subwoofer is either bottoming out... has a blown or damaged coil... or your charging system is not adequate to keep your batter charged above 8VDC.

that amp should work fine with those speakers, just make sure that they(speakers)are wired for 2 ohms.at 500-600watts coming from amp, you should be getting 250-300 watts per speaker, just dont crank your gain too high on the amp.
