Question about Brother Sewing Machines
Unlikely as it may seem, it is probably in your upper threading. Insert a new needle, then totally rethread with good thread in different colors (same weight upper and bobbin). Now try this test, with the presser foot up, pull the top thread, it should feed smoothly, now lower the presser foot, pull the thread again, it should barely move. This usually seats the thread in the tension discs and you can see which is giving the problem. Also, try your tension at 3 and use a good needle inserted all the way up in needle shaft, plus flat side facing away from you. I hope this solves your problem, sometimes the little buggers don't let the thread seat right and make you crazy.
