Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

Hi I have a FRIGIDAIRE FMV156DCA microwave. The door is sagging and not activating the switches. When I move the door up slightly the oven works. I don't see any adjustments on the door or on the switches. Brian

    Hi

Thanks for your reply. I don't see any hinge mounting screws to loosen on the main compartment. Do the hinges on the door have adjustments?

    Thanks

    Brian

If the door is sagging, slacken the lower hinge and adjust it then adjust the catch settings on the side of the cavity by taking the cover off and lossening the screws that fix the interlock holder and with the door closed, tighten the screws back up.
Hope that helps.

I need to change the interior light bulb in my Frigidaire over the counter microwave. The model # is FMV156DCA.

Good Morning Evelyn, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Here are some simple troubleshooting tips to help replace the light bulb on your Frigidaire microwave, FMV156DCA.

·First, disconnect power to your microwave. This can be done by either unplugging it or at the circuit breaker panel.
·To release cover, remove the screw on the light cover (light cover may become very hot, do not touch glass when light is on).
·Remove old light bulb and replace only with equivalent watt bulb available from parts distributor or the manufacturer directly. Bulbs are also available at most hardware stores or lighting centers. Bulbs larger than 30 watts are NOT recommended.
·Close light cover and secure with screw removed in step 2.

I hope this information proves to be helpful. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reconnect.

FMV156DCA turns on, cook indicator lights but not cooking, timer counts down fine too

Hello epinvegas - Try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, then it sounds like the microwave has a faulty magnetron, wiring failure or control board. Contact a professional to assist with the repairs.

Same - the counter counts down, but doesn't cook.

Yes your door isnt aligning right when closed and the lower interlock isnt being made when shut. Look and see if where the door pivots if it is broke or sagging down.
