There are quite a few things to check on a gas dryer.

  1. Gas valve coils
  2. Igniter
  3. Flame Sensor
  4. Thermal Fuse
  5. High Limit Thermostat
  6. Cycling Thermostat
Here is a video to walk you thru the process of doing the diagnostics on the dryer to find the failed component.

My whirlpool estate dryer has all of the sudden stopped heating up. What is the likely cause of the problem

I would check to see if your exhaust vent is clear first. I actually had a bird build a nest in mine once :) If that doesn't seem to fix the problem you most likely have a burned out heating element. Hope this helps :)

I have a LGR4634EQ1 dryer and it all of a sudden stop heating up. What can I check?

Check to see if it's getting gas firstly. Then open it up and start it. Do you see anything lighting up or sparking? Do you hear any gas? If you don't see any light or spark then your igniter probably needs to be replaced. If you don't hear gas, the problem may be the gas valve. If you don't hear or see either you either have a problem with your controls or the power coming into the dryer. Check your fuse/breaker box if so.

Dryer not heating up

What you do is remove the rear dust cover. It could be the element located to the right, or it could very well be the Hi Limit mounted atop the heating element chamber. fd54e5e.jpg
