You need to sync them again. To do this you must first press a little red button located in the front of the wii next to the sd card slots. Hold down for about 2 to 3 seconds. Right after wards look on the back of the wii remoter and take of battery cover. Press the tiny red button on the bottom left hand corner to sync to the wii.

Remotes won't connect. put in new batteries, tried pressing red button in side remotes, all 4 blue lights are flashing on both remotes

Hello kellyanne_ma,
The Wii must be searching for remotes before one will connect. If you are trying to connect controller #1 (meaning there are none connected) and it fails, there may be a problem with your Wii.
First, remove power from the Wii by unplugging it. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Once powered on and you see the health/safety information press and hold the red SYNC button on your Wii for 20 seconds.
Now press the Sync button on the controller and while the blue lights are flashing, press the Sync button on the Wii.
Hopefully, that will connect the controller! If it does not, you may need to contact Nintendo!

Syncing your Wii-mote to your Nintendo Wii

So you just bought a new Nintendo Wii Remote Controller but when you click the power button the four blue lights at the bottom just blink huh? Well that just means your Remote needs to be synchronized to your Wii.

Here are simple step by step instructions to do so.

1) Turn on your Nintendo Wii.
2) Open the door on the front of your Wii covering the SD card slot and the SYNC button.

3) Open the battery compartment on the back of your Wii-Remote Controller.

4) Press the red SYNC button on your Wii.
5) Press the little red SYNC button on your Wii-Mote.
6) Wait until a solid blue LED light comes on on one of the four lights at the bottom.
7) If it doesn't work the first time, try again.
Your Wii-Mote should now be synchronized.

I can't connect my controller to the wii console. Model number Rvl-001(USA). Model of nyko pistol accessory is Bn:090907 4632.My mom threw out the manual out by mistake.HELP!

  • Turn on your Wii console. While on the HOME screen, press any button on the Wii Remote.
  • If the 4 squares on the bottom remain dark, change the batteries (or for a rechargeable Wii Remote, place it on the charger for a while).
  • If the 4 squares blink blue, then stop, your Wii Remote is not synced. Press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time. This should connect your Wii Remote if it's been synced before.
  • If your 4 squares still blink blue, then stop, these last steps will do the trick. First, on the front of the Wii console, just underneath the disc slot, there is a small panel that opens down. Open it and press the small red button.
  • Open the battery panel of your Wii Remote and press the small red button. Replace the battery panel and observe the blinking blue lights. If 3 stop blinking, and 1 remains lit blue, your Wii Remote is synced with your console.

Remotes wont work light up but wont stay on ,hit

The red button, is a sync button and not a reset button. You can try resyncing your wii remotes to your wii follow these steps:

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
You must have batteries in when pressing the red sync button on the wii remote, if your using the wii remote charger system, you must remove it and use batteries until this step is done

Hope this helps. Owen

On one of the wii controllers all i get is 4 blue lights flashing then nothing

The Wii-mote probably just needs to be synchronized to your Wii. Open the battery compartment on the back of your remote and open the front SD card slot on your Wii. Push the red SYNC button on the Wii and then the little red button on your Wii-moteand it should sync to your console.

My wii remotes wont pick up signal blue lights flash then just go back out again

Hi, check the batter level and then try re-synching the remote's.

Here's instructions for both:

f4bc8924da.gif A fresh set of alkaline batteries should last, depending on amount and type of use, up to 35 hours. This can vary greatly based on certain factors, such as Wii Remote Speaker Volume, Rumble, battery quality and age, and type of game being played.

Important Note: If you are using rechargeable batteries, the only type of battery recommended are Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. When it comes to using rechargeable batteries, you must follow manufacturer guidelines for safety and proper usage. Failure to do so could cause damage to the Wii Remote and void the warranty.

There are two ways to check the Wii Remote's battery levels:

  • Remove the battery cover and press the Red "Sync" button. The number of lights flashing indicates the Wii Remote's battery strength. Four flashing lights indicates full strength, with one light flashing indicating the lowest level.

    or

  • Use the HOME Menu to check battery level of each Wii Remote:

    1. Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.

    2. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Menu.

    3. The battery level of all synced Wii Remotes is displayed along the bottom. Four bars indicates a full charge, with one being the lowest charge.

55851daefd.gif Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote.

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up, and press the SYNC button just below the batteries. The Player LED will blink.
  3. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 to 4).

This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.

I hope this helps

We bought an additional wii remote and have tried to sync it but all we get is all 4 blue lights flashing??? wont work? thanks

Well, I don't have a Wii myself but I did some checking and found this. Hope it helps.

When you first get a second Wii remote, you have to press the red button inside the battery compartment and you press the red button by the Wii's SD Card slot simultaneously. Then you turn on the game and you press the Wii menu button. Go to controller settings and select reconnect remotes (can't remember if that's the exact words, but it's something like that). Next you hold 1 and 2 on the first remote, then hold 1 and 2 on the second remote. And that should do it.

Cant add a controller

I had the same problem and called Nintendo support. They had us unplug the wii console for 30 seconds, plug it back in and start the system back up. BEFORE pressing the A button on the health and safety screen, we needed to take the battery cover off of one remote, press the red sync button, then quickly press the sync button on the front of the wii console (in the front - you have to open the flap). Once the single blue light was on at the bottom of the remote, do the same with the other remote (press the sync button on it and then on the wii console). Then the second blue light should be lit on the second remote. Hope that helps!
