Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer
i have got a canon mp600 and when i turn it on all i get is an error code 6A00 and now my printer will not do anything. my dad changed one of the ink cartridges yesturday and did it properly and took off all the packaging and orange tappe, etc and now all i get is the code as stated, please help
If you look inside the printer on the right hand side you will see the head cleaning mechanism.
The 6A00 error means that this head cleaning mechanism is jammed. If you push the cleaning pad down gently with a cotton bud or blunt end of a penci it will fall into its normal position and may reset after you turn the power on.
If it doesn't then you have options.
If you are still under warranty then contact canon otherwise you may need to strip the printer covers off and clean all of the ink build up away from the mechanism and possibly need to replace the return springs that return the carriage to its home position.
I have had this problem a few times and the release worked for the first 4 months but then i had to strip it down, clean the mechanism and replace the spring with a similar one.
