shutter when pressed does not click or take photos
Problem for Canon PowerShot A70 Digital Camera
Shows up black screen when turned on
when i turn on my canon power shot S2 IS 5 mega pix camera it just shows a black screen on the lcd. i tried changing it into different modes(like auto, scenic, etc) but its still the same..does it mean the camera is dead? i tried with new set of batteries but of no use...what shud i do?

- same thing happen to me.Hope this does not mean our camera are dead. First i couldnt take a picture and now both recording and snapshoting doesnt fuction. turning the camera on, the LCD screen turns black. It can still records sound though. Any solution would be great. - GuestJul 12, 2008

- When I turn on the camera there is a black screen. All icons visable and camera will operate as if taking a photo, but will only record a black image.Images in the review mode prior to problem are still retrievable.
