Check hard drive is connected properly
Boot into the Bios (usually press DEL as it starts up)
See if the Bios "sees" the hard drive, if it does not, then the hard drive may have failed
(IF you are installing windows and this is a SATA hard drive and the windows version is XP, you will need to download the motherboard SATA drivers (repost and I'll explain more)
